Eitherway just dont forget to factory wipe/reset after upgrading os from 10 11 or 12 to ensure there will be less issues or bugs.

so out of the box its android 10. then you have the option to update into android 11 and to 12. if you dont mess with updates and stay on 10, does the greenline issue still persist? or when you update it in 11. is it safe to only update in 11 and not 12? is it only the android 12 update that caused this issue? thanka guys

First time Sony phone user.No regrets.
This is the perfect gaming/media phone.Have been using it for over a year 24/7.
1. no notch,no punch hole,no under display selfie camera.
2. powerful gpu/cpu
3. 16:9 rectangular screen for movies games
4. 2tb micro sd card support
5. 2x front faced stereo speakers

Good phone overall, can't complain about performance, battery, camera and build quality.
The form factor is a bit silly - it's long, narrow and so smooth it slides off surfaces that visually seem flat. Glass on all sides doesn't help usability or signal reception, but there wasn't a plastic shell option. The separate button for the assistant is annoying and stupid.
Fingerprint sensor gave out and died right after warranty expired. I don't see the fingerprint in the settings menu anymore and it doesn't react to touch.

I have bought this phone on sale, have price:)it has everything,most important no punch hole/notch,micro sd,stereo speakers,3 version android upgrades (11,12,13 and hopefully android 14,dissent batter life and camera,plus its very fast cpu/gpu power.The only problem is when i transfer media content from pc to phone or sd card, its extremely slow!I tried difrent pc:desctop,portable and difrent cables and sd cards, its the same very very slow transfer speed like 10 mb/s.I also had the Xperia 10 II model and it did exectely the same slow usb transfer speed.Other than the slow usb transfer speed the phone is very solid and snappy.Thanks Sony!

this is the best phone i ever owned,no notch/punch hole,good software support,ok camera
i can play all my retro games (10.000+) and have all my favorite movies,tvshows,music on my 1tb micro sd card,the phone stays cool all the time when i am offline, only gets hot when online.

Awful experience with this phone. Stopped charging with anything but a fast charger. Sony said they don't care as long as it works with the original charger. Finally got them to accept a service request on the grounds that if I use the original charger somewhere that cannot provide enough power for fast charging, it doesn't work. They send me a link to register the phone for the service, but the model number field and the serial number fields do not work.
Never again, Sony. I want a refund. Horrendous.

Prize9405, 29 Nov 2022I thought it's 2 years? They have stopped updating Xp... moreI believe its atleast 2 OS Upgrade & 3 year security, etc. Just go to xpericheck dot com. Phone released 2020 so 2023. Otherwise unlock bootloader then install custom firmware.
I suggest flashing a different region firmware that recieve regular updates mainly stock (country)customized roms.

This phone will probably have 1 last year of security updates by next year.

Stopped getting software/security update in less than 2 years for a $950 phone is unpalatable. Meanwhile competitors have promised 4-5 years of security updates for their cheaper devices. Software enhancement to newer Xperia flagship has also not push to the older device, an example is the combined camera basic and pro app. Not to mention, many have encountered vertical line on the display just after warranty period has over. Thought I could use the phone for at least 3-4 years, guess have to look for my next phone with another manufacturer soon.

No more software/security update after less than 2 years. Come on Sony, you can do better than this. It's was a $950 phone.

Dear Sony, thank you for this wonderful gem.
In the last 3 years, I have used the following devices, started with Xiaomi Note 9 pro, then Huawei mate 20x 5g (lovely beast), it broken down and I used Samsung A51 for a few months and then briefly iPhone 13 pro max and quickly back to android with Note 20 Ultra and finally onto this as a temporary replacement for my. Note 20 Ultra.
But I am in love and not going back. Sony is the way forward.

Hoihoi, 19 Jul 2022this or Zenfone 8 ?Still 5ii due to much more efficient chipset and telephoto camera. Really wish Asus was wise and used 870 on that phone. Either way, both are way better than 6a.
