Sony should start working on their phone naming, nobody knows which phone is the latest, and it seems like they all have the number 5 in them 💀

Rumors are that this is the last Xperia of this series Sony might reset the naming scheme in 2024 still unconfirmed btw but usually Sony doesn't go above 5 generations for a series

Recordes are used for broadcast video. Typically most of normal PRO cameras for photos can record video HDR and even above. Alpha 7sm3 and alpha 1 can output RAW video in 16-bit (DolbyVision is 12-bit).
No insults please, because you'll be gone from here faster than you think. I also recommend reading comprehension lessons. I didnt test 5V yet but 1V has one of the best calibrated screens I ever see (in creator mode). Max brightness is to big to watch movies inside the house/room.

I only write that I dont need ~1900nits for watching movies. In my life I tested screens with 4000nits and I dont need such brightness for movies. Go trolling to another place.

PS All professional cameras (for photos) at now can record HDR content. Alpha 7Sm3 and Alpha 1 can output RAW video in 16-bit (Dolby Vision is 12-bit). Recorders are used mostly in broadcast video recording.

An I the only one who feels like every year Sony releases their new phones, they fail the address the key issue —PRICE— with their devices that's preventing Sony "fans" from getting them?!
Plus I'm a tad confused where this one —Xperia 5— falls.

Considering we have the Xperia 10 which has mid-range specs, is this one a slightly-above-mid-range or high-end/flagship?! And if it is a slightly-above-mid-range, why isn't it priced similarly to Google's 6, 7, or 8 offerings?!

I feel like if they did that, they'd sell a lot more and increase their market share.

It's a phone, it has a bad screen proven by DxOMark, no need to defend it like your family's livelihood is on the line

HDR+ is video only, videos are filmed with recorders. Who told you that you can only watch videos filmed with this phone's camera
Jeez it's so hard talking to you, even a 3yo have good enough IQ to understand that cameras and the display are separate parts of a phone.
Sony 900 nits Samsung 1200 nits iPhone 1800 nits, you tell me sony has the best screen?

HDR10+ is a video standard, it has nothing to do with cameras, pictures, and image viewing. You are exposing your ignorance and you definitely aren't an expert like you claim. Having a YouTube channel nobody watches doesn't make you a tech guru.

This is marketed as 21:9 movie phone, yet it can't even playback HDR10+ movies. Nuff said, you can stop replying to me because the more you say the more you embarrass yourself with completely false claims. While I solely focused on the display, you kept bringing up stuff like camera, TV monitors and your YouTube channel to completely distract the discussion away from the focus, which is this phone has an incredibly poor display for a $999 phone
