Anonymous, 17 Oct 2015i hope you'll replace you're phone thex. i noticed that gol... moreNot true, mine is white color m5 and it is also shuting itself , plus I found mine crack the backside plastic by itself without a single drop to the floor or anything,the camera failed to perform every now n again even I cleared the cached data and the real pain is when u need it, u take that out from your pocket and u found out it has gone n unable to use unless u plug to charge n boot up again, my old sony zr phone is far more reliable then this, in term of built quality and performance, m5 is a total disappointment makes me lost in sony faith.

We are experiencing the shut down problem here in the Philippines... Seems to be the whole lot of the M5 is defective.Sony has not given any solutions... I bought mine from an authorized Sony Store in Hongkong.. Five days after returning to the Philippines, this auto shutdown comes up...now I can't use it anymore because anytime it just shuts down even in full battery power. You can't even turn it on with the power button. You have to re-plug it in with the power charger to turn it on again... What a pain in the neck...this model needs a worldwide recall.

I have changed the settings to wcdma only for the past 2days phone functions well but it's still too soon to tell,can't be too happy yet. I am still observing the phone if there will be anymore random shut down issues. Marshmallow update for m5?thats sth new for me, is that the firmware update Sony was referring to? Good to know the new phone doesn't give you any problems though!!

C5 Ultra for :
- Better rear camera and probably the best front camera with flash.
- Better hardware
-Bigger screen, according to your taste.
-Better colour accuracy on screen
- Beautiful design with a bezelles body
Z3 for:
-Dust and water resistance
- 4K video recording if you have a 4K TV
- Smaller screen, according to your taste.

May be they arr putting it on hold because all the sofware issues on the phone:) ..... last week I got to play around with the phone in a shop in singapore, I was curious about the camera, so I was playing around with the camera, I had to restart the phone twice because it hanged. So forget M5, if the user opinion on the Z5 is good thats the one im going to get.

Guys with shut down issues. Try changing your network to GSM only. It works. Update me if it works for you guys too

Problem is random shutdown, and i cannot turn it on unless i plug-in the charger. When the phone shutdown, hard reset is not possible. I also noticed that the time and date always reset. And now I'm going to the Sony service center if they can do something about it, and they should do. The phone is too expensive with such quality.

I bought sony m5 gold colour, and i get the same problem of suddenly shut down, i had try to do the pc companion also and i put it to 3g network, but it also could not work, same like before, always shut down while i am watching online video , can anyone give me some suggestion? I am from malaysia and bought this phone is just around 1 month only😵

btw thex use gsm connection instead of 3g.im guessing 50% that your shutdown issue will be solved. and all we have to do is to wait for the updates.

i hope you'll replace you're phone thex. i noticed that gold and white version of m5 doesn't suffer from shut down issues. it is day 3 now for my white version of m5 and nothing weird or buggy happening. i hope this one is not buggy. i saw in other forum that if m5 gets the android marshmallow version soon the bugs will be solved. please update me thex if wcdma works for you. ill be i touch
