If your battery last shorter you might try calibrate your battery (Battery Calibration in Play Store) but your phone need to be rooted (easy to do).
There is no considerably larger battery (in terms of mAh) for Xperia P. Don't believe what you read in commercials, battery capacity is related to physical size within same technology, therefore, larger capacity battery is physically larger and couldn't be fitted inside Xperia P case.
Of course, if your battery is faulty, or lost capacity due to number of charging cycles, it can be user replaced (if you know what you doing and have proper tool) there is a video on YouTube how it is done.

I've been using XP for 1yr and 1month already, happy with the functions however not so satisfied with the battery life , so i just wanna know if IS IT OK TO CHANGE FOR A BETTER BATTERY? I am planning to buy bigger MAH battery for my XP, will this not cause SHORT CIRCUIT or destroy my phone? Pls advice. :)

You need to perform Recovery from PC Companion or SUS (search this thread for detailed explanation, I already answered it about a dozen times).
Or flash custom ROM as I propose in my post below (latest version is Honami MoonWalker v 8.0).

hello all, am using Sony xperia P Since oct 2012 and my phone has a problem , that is not make sound when sms comes to my phone even i change my ring tone one to another.(and also i have updated to my phone to jelly and did two times factory reset) Friends if you know solution for my problem plz...suggest me.

It's free, it's for both locked and unlocked bootloader, it's easy to install, all you need is 'root' and CWM Recovery (both can be done easily following the steps on xda-developers forum), and you will get super fast, butter smooth and stable experience with your Xperia P.

Lots of issues Post 4.1 JB update from ICS
1) Lagging video recorder
2) Lag in call pick up & dial
3) Thumbnails in photo album disappeared
4) Quick battery discharge

If your battery last shorter then either your expectations are to high (you cannot surf the net for more then 3-4 hours), or something is wrong with your battery calibration or you have some misbehaving app that prevents DeepSleep CPU state.

If nothing happens after couple minutes, do the same procedure but this time wait until you feel three vibrations, and then release buttons.

Alternative is to flash custom ROM like Honami MoonWalker 7.4 by Pandemic (search for it on xda-developers forum pages).

I am using this phone from six mnths but My phone hangs alot whenever I doo heavy use it hangs and automatically get restarted and very poor battery and I havent updated my phone but still hangs in dialer in incoming and out going calls and the worst thing is when ever I download any game when I start playing it gets stuck and hangs and automatically get restarted..so pls give me a solution
