AnonD-152760, 06 Jun 2013i will try this repair feature later today or tomorrow and ... moreDo repair, and it's mandatory to do 2-3 full cycles (first battery charging after update must last 3 hours min., after that don't charge it until battery goes under 10%, then charge all the way up to 100%, and once more).
Other problem with sudden drop in battery level is not necessarily software related, it actually points to possible battery calibration error (happens usually when you don't do full cycle, described before, and system doesn't charge battery correctly). This usually happens on battery that is charged to lower then 100% while system detects it as 100%. So when using smartphone extensively battery suddenly loose capacity, and if you go on stand-by and turn screen on after 5-10 minutes, you will see spike up, as if it was charged for a couple minutes.

also i had one big problem with battery, suddenly battery dropped from 30%+ to 14% with low battery warning, then drop to 2 or 3% and then 0% and shutdown. and all this in about 15seconds. after that sometimes it was dead and sometimes it had 10% when switched on and then it drains normally :S
this is a pretty weird SOFTWARE problem that i believe is SONY related, not android (i'm 99% sure it's not in the battery itself because i believe it didnt happen since JB)
just for a comparison, i previously owned a samsung wave on bada, and of course app store was sh*t and features nowhere near as android, but damn, it was reliable with battery and build quality, calls and camera..

well S advance is better because it has an expansion slot! funny..! if you are going to buy that Samsung,it'll surely be because it has an expansion slot! just go for P! it's great bro,
this is my opinion, others may have different ops!
(well just don't forget that sony is little late about updates, and likely P won't get higher update than JB, but don't worry, flashing will always be there for help )
if you need more help try reading the reviews of both phones! it'll surely worth for money you are going to spend!

The behavior you described is not normal, or usual (I know because I have also Xperia P with JB) so obviously something went wrong with update.
In order to fix it, you need to repair your Xperia P (or even do Factory reset, and then repair again if needed), and your phone will behave normally (with some bugs of course, but it's same with any other smartphone).

i started having this problem with answering phone cals a few days after upgrade to jelly bean (sometimes it hangs for 1-2 seconds, sometimes 7-8, and one time i pulled the slider and it kept ringing for like 15 seconds!)
also clock app sometimes stops responding when i want to set alarm
sometimes (well,pretty often actually) when going into contacts it takes up to 6-7 seconds to load contacts or call log
only good thing with update is that camera is fixed when taking a photo at 8mp, BUT another problem appeared: sometimes (only when taking first photo after starting camera) it gives me memory error and doesnt save the picture.
dont mistake me, other than that its a pretty good phone for the money, if only they could fix this annoying everyday problems with software
anyway,all this is starting to REALLY annoy me, i will try repairing the software with pc suite and if nothing gets fixed, i'm going to HTC or samsung- hope they treat their customers better :)

I have moved lot of apps to internal storage. And when I restarted phone those apps took nearly two minutes to appear in the app drawer! is that normal? there are 60 apps in my downloaded apps list and 30 of them are movable to int. storage. I've moved 26 of them.
and I also like to know, if I flashed my sxp does the installation is same as the general system update comes via OTA or PCC?
