I think so it's only a bug-fix update to make the SXS running even more smoother. The most complaint about the SXS (all Android smartphones anyway) is the battery life. I've got a reasonable battery life turning off the wi-fi if I don't need it. I just turned it on when I need to check my Facebook, Twitter, e-mail then I turned it off again. I changed only from WCDMA(preferred)GSM to GSM only. It gives me a very reasonable battery life. BUT I still believe Sony must release a firmware update to make the battery life even longer because I think the ICS is more battery sucking because of its true multi-tasking feature (not a mere apps switcher) like what we have got with Gingerbread.

I got a new firmware update to my Xperia S last night.it was with Build # 6.0.A.3.73...its not an ICS update. what i read about it that it's for some bug fixes & battery improvement. yeah it fixed the bugs i noticed but overall these bugs aren't noticeable at all. but that's sony support service & how it cares about customers & their phones.

I bought this phone from my friend as 2 hand who didnt like and wanted to continue with his samsung Galaxy S. He opted to wait for Galaxy 3. In its first day it got first scratch and my friend told me that his samsung been used more than 1 year and coped no scratch. I ve been using this phone like 3 weeks everything great according to me. Weak points are sometimes it doesnt recognize when you touch one of three buttons located at bottom. Second point is its GPS very weak. I tried to navigate through it, 2 or 3 times it failed and all the time I got help from my friends HTC desire S. Other point is its screen never remains clear, all over finger prints and needs to be clean frequently. Lastly couldnt access to internet from my office modem I thing it has some issues with WPA2 or other complicated encryption and I believe when OS upgrated the problem will be fixed as in my old LG optimus.
Those problems never prevailed over its perfectnes.
I basically can live with this problems If you cant then consider this post. its camera and other things are so remarkable.

about the capacitive buttons: i saw too many people complaining about..even before i bought it i was afraid to find it really unresponsive or be a problem. but after i bought it i didn't find it unresponsive at all. yeah maybe they are dots but once ur finger got just near the dot it reacts. i wrote that to make it clear to those who complain..also many of my friends thought that they have to touch the icons in the transparent bar.
about the rating..yeah i can agree with u but i wrote that just i saw gsmarena wrote a couple of articles about the XS & one of them was a comparison with GSII. all of them were so good & lifting the XS to be on top of all other phones on market plus proving that the XS is a very competitive phone & an amazing phone. so i just connected the rating with the highly recommending reviews written by gsmarena.

I wish GSMArena would start to state sensor size of camera. 12 MPx camera migth be bad if sensor is tinny.
Sensor size matters !

Dear all, I am interested using Android operating very much but it is almost 6 months that I have got an iphone 4s which is working outstanding and better than any of these smartphone, HTC, Galaxy S2 and Sony Xperia s or any other smart phones. I am talking more regarding technically issues.

xperia s downsides
1. xperia s does not use snapdragon's s4 KRAIT which is a beast of a processor
2. the power button (which is used for waking up the phone from sleep mode) is very badly placed
3. the small dots above the bar need a lot of practice as they r too small
4. the transparent strip cannot be customized to your liking as it is one of the sexiest things ever put on a phone
5. the one i hate the most but sony has managed to improve a lot in this segment r the bad viewing angles .i mean u do have to show off that screen in front of ur friends. what if there r more than 4 of them looking at the device at once

... moreThe arc S is by far the best Android phone to date. I am really sorry to have ditched this in favour of the Xperia S. Big Mistake. Read about my disappointment with the Xperia S in the comments and opinions section.
The arc S is Most Stylish, smooth, lightning fast, reliable, robust, never froze. Dropped it on concrete several times, no problems whatsoever, great battery.
Never felt the need for front camera.
I wish Sony continued with this styling for their flagship. This is truly a phone to benchmark against until a true challenger appears.

advice, 02 Apr 2012I agree with u in most of what u said but I need to correc... moreTotally agreed about the #1 phone's on GSMA since I was one of the first buyers of the Samsung wave, and the reason it was a big failure is because of the dumb operating system called BADA! All the wanted apps never worked on it and thats the main thing why people disliked it. BUT I'm still buying the Xperia S because it really is a piece of art and if you forget about the critics you wouldn't find any flaw. Battery life and no external memory? Cmon we can deal with that! :)
