Even if one is to disregard all of your posts, your nickname openly tells that you cannot be objective when it comes to Sony. Therefore, write whatever you want in the future, I'm not spending any more of my time by engaging in more "discussions" with a fanboy, as they are empirically impossible to reason with or see things objectively.

Smarter...better and faster phone...and the best product from sony in the middile range.I've brought it even sony has stopped production.That much i love this phone and sony that i am satisfied with it till now.Now SONY HAD MADE A SHIT DECISION TO CHEAT ALL CUSTOMERS----NO OS UPDATE????ARE WE FOOLS???? I kindly request sony to bring a 4.4 ANDROID Update TO SP....

If you want kitkat that badly then go install cyanogenmod, what's the problem? SP is still a good phone without kitkat so don't make a very big deal out of it.

Disguested with .207 update.
During calls back button, options like search messages and key board dont work at all.

Even with the latest update, I'm still getting some issues with the phone. My screen will suddenly freezes and become yellowish for about 4 seconds. And then Sony decided to stop the support.
Is there anyone facing with the same problem. Or should I make a complaint to Sony until they solve it? Where can I make that complaint?

I have mailed this to Sony.
I was a loyal customer of Sony and I had an Xperia SP and the site mentioned that the device will be getting an kitkat update.
However it seems sony has back stabbed us. Your slogan is make believe. Do you really think as a company you stood up to your words?
Please check the number of dissatisfied consumers you have made in these couple of days
I wanted to buy a Sony smartband talk but I can't now because it only compatible with kitkat devices.
What are you trying to do as a company. If i have the slightest truth in what I have written I will not be surprised that you will perish in the market quickly, you have already given up your laptop business get ready for the mobile market too.
I am a tech freak and i ususally recommend devices to my friends and their family. You guys made you'll off the list now and I know you won't bother about that but I am not the only one out there asking for an explanation...Could you let me know was it due to a technical reason?...or what was it.
As a company i have lost faith in you and what hurts more is that I used to comment on forums before the official news that the device will be stuck @ 4.3, that Sony will throw in kitkat even if it has to be at the last moment
We are consumers dear sir and we have every right for an explanation and I demand it.

Sony labelled the SP with 'next version' concerning Kitkat. That was promising. Then to 'under investigation' then to the middle finger to all its customers...Is that a respectable way of dealing with your customers Sony?? You lost me as customer ( and many others) and I won't stop here. I won't recommend any Xperia to anyone when you disrespect your fans like this. That's the end. Now switching to HTC M8.

Sony has updated its support pages mentioning that Xperia SP wont be getting its android 4.4 update.. People like us buy phones from branded companies like sony so that we can be assured of both hardware and software support atleast for the prescribed 18 month period. It looks to me its rather a marketing strategy to promote their latest so called dumb mid-rangers (Xperia M2, C3, T3, E1 and so on) by stoping the software updates to SP. When you get a closer look at 2014 mid-range devices from Sony, they dont even come close in terms of specification and benchmark scores. For example, the Xperia M2, C3, T3 has qualcomm 400 chipset with Adreno 305 GPU and 1 gb of ram whereas SP has dual core krait (better than qualcomm 400) clocked at 1.7 ghz with an Adreno 320 GPU (far better than Adreno 305). Far worse situation is that the E1 was upgraded to android 4.4 recently which has a qualcomm 200 chipset with Adreno 302 GPU and 512 Mb ram. They also patiently waited for the software support period for Xperia SP to end (October 2014) so that they can blame on the 18 month update contract that was made by google. So it is evident that the once called make.believe company is only cheating customers like us by using thier dumb strategy. What they do not know is that people are more tech savvy and they will pretty much show their strategy by not buying their cheap cheating products in the market. Remember Sony, Nokia was once a Mighty Gaint but now???? It wont be long for you to face a similiar situtaion.. Till now, I promoted your products to those who wanted to buy a smartphone but not anymore.

I will not support a cheating company that lies its customers and defrauds them for their money. Nobody forced Sony to state publically they would release a KK update for Xperia SP, but they did it anywhay. They surely profited from that (mis)information and what they did is borderline illegal (fraudulent marketing and false claims). Two previous sentences are the core of the problem.

The device sells for €170 in my country now, for that price the SP is definitely worth the money!
GOODS:
- Blazing fast (still faster than almost all 2014 midrangers which offer the Snapdragon S400 with Adreno 305, this device however has Adreno 320!)
- Sharp screen, natural colours
- Build quality top notch, sturdy handset
- Notification light
- Good reception
- Audio output (both speakers & headphones) is rich and sounds good, though either can't go loud.
BADS
- Bad viewing angles, to some it matter
- Unstable WIFI reception
- Sometimes terrible RAM management, needs to reload the UI and menu icons when returning to homescreen even now and then
- Battery life after 1.5 years is below average
- Camera is simply not good, also a tat slow with flash
- Call quality is quite low, speaker is reasonable
To all the ppl complaining about no Kitkat upgrade: too bad but don't cry, if you want more updates, buy the Z series, A Xperia Z1 e.g. equally priced as a midranger like Xperia T3 only it definitely will get software updates longer as Z series is treated differently by Sony. Simply don't moan about software updates when you buy a last years' midranger.

In case of xperia m2, I would advise you to go for a motorola moto g (2014) with same chipset as m2 with a display that is bigger and better than both sp as well as m2. It is also cheaper than the m2 and motorola is very dilligent about updating their phones, unlike sony.

It's about a company that frauds its own customers by breaking the law making false claims. "Quickly corrected themselves?" That page was up for over three months. I bought my phone in december when a KK firmware was not "under the investigation", but a "future release".
