Build and design are great imho, I loved the minimalist slab look of the z5 and this just builds on that. Theres nothing really wrong with it, except it gets a bit hot and the battery life is pretty poor. Couldn't Sony have simply put a 3000+ mAh battery in it? I really don't care about a 6 core processor, power efficiency is more important in a phone. A 1.5Ghz quad core would do me fine. Also it will record at 4k, but you have to use a 3rd party camera app like open camera to do it. Problem is it heats up pretty quick in this mode so no wonder Sony left it off.

I did pick this up for £140 though, and a portable power bank fixes the battery issue.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018are u facing any heating or battery issues after Oreo update?Heating - yes, the normal heat for the thermal is 37->44 degree Celsius, while gaming heavy 3D game (like modern combat or ff XV pocket edition), it gets to 54 degree Celsius and NO, it doesn't affect battery life, it's just hot.

battery life of SOT: 4 hours + if you put the stamina mode at 30 percent
my daily usage involve youtube (count in hours), 2d and 3d gaming (1 hours) and web surfing+reading.

Once I used alot of camera work for vacation, it gets to 3 hours + of SOT only

Oh and camera heat up ?? Yeah, not too much, still heat up badly if you tend to record a full 30 minutes vid of 1080 hd 60 fps though.

This phone is just at OK level, neither utterly satisfying nor traumatizing.

I bought this phone because I want don't want to pin my face onto the phone's screen but still get the job done throughout the day with its decent battery and fluid performance.

btw, oreo gets you 2D face unlock

This phone is rather expensive if u compare with others , and the camera is not as good as what the others say, cannot auto focus well at all and heat up fast. The battery also dies fast too...

Luxor, 25 Jun 2018How is the performance of this phone in Oreo?I own an Xperia X F5121 32GB and just by updating the system pass to use 14GB of storage, there are a lot of software bloat. Speed is not a problem, animations even look smoother, but there are certain unacceptable points like: 1) Photo Upload absolutely not working for OneDrive and probably other Cloud Services. 2) Photo gallery stays in "processing changes" for hours, days even weeks... you have to "force stop" and restart the system. SwiftKey is not an option and perfomances slow (the truth) and feels like a cheap keyboard response. 3) Photo camera usually crashes, or saves the half of the picture (vertically) you will lose a lot of moments 4) Bluetooth pairing lost its spark, not it's slow shows a lot of errors and disconnect by unstable connections (1 feet distance). 5) Wifi perfomance even go worst (less distance and less speeed). Honestly, don't buy it, with Nougat or Oreo still a bad phone. Pay more for an iPhone 8 Plus and will not be disappointed you get what you paid (with iPhone) that's my personal opinion, don't want to bother no body nor be offensive, just what I think, good luck! :D
