Anonymous, 27 Mar 2016Hey don't suggest Samsung in this page.Why not? I am a Sony fan, my first phones were SEs (K750, W810, K800, K850, W910), all good phones. Had a SE Zylo with broken flex cable and an Xperia ray that was good until the Android 4.0 ICS upgrade. Lately Sony has been a lot behind the competition. This phone just shouldn't be more expensive than a Xiaomi Mi5. I'm not saying it is a bad phone, but at that price point there are better choices (S7, G5, maybe HTC 10 and many more). And one more thing, Sony, if you want to sell, even at this price, then don't launch the phone on the market 2 months later than the competition. That's how you loose ground. Same for HTC.

Why the downgrade in screen size with the sub-par 68% screen to body ratio? Straight up those numbers: 5.2" screen and at least 74% screen to body ratio. And 8.7mm thickness with no OIS and that poor battery?
Why no 4K video recording? There should be 4K video recording with both cams.
Why just 3GB of RAM? 4GB should be standard for a 2016 flagship.
Why no FM radio or infrared?
Why no OIS on the back camera? Every flagship has this.
Why just f/2.0 while others are doing at least half a stop better?
Why just 2700mAh battery?
Sure Sony is doing something right: one of the best designs out there, pretty good cameras and overall specs, but there are too many things missing, considering the flagship status and insanely huge price. Xiaomi Mi5 is a better choice for half the price. If you want IP68 rating, then S7 - a lot better screen, 4GB RAM, better camera and battery and many more.

When will it be released and how much would it cost? Will it be worth it for me to wait with a laggy Samsung galaxy s4 or get the z5 compact?

I'm a big HTC fan... but I have to say, this phone looks and sounds like a contender. I'm really impressed by it, Sony did a great job on this one.

Poorest after sales network in mea region. NeverNever ever created extra ordinary, only extreme price hike, availability no where, and Z1 bought in warranty next year battery zeroed. Change required half its price, also destroyed set altogether being a TV shop authorised agent. Since a total loss of 650$ boxed, I promised never to look at Sony! Actually report they get all is perfect, but No Never.

This is from the ... moresome people just dont understand some things,camera on the z5 dosent make the best picture,but it has the best video stabilzation,i dont know now for s7 but picture quality is not the only thing,for example autofocus was the fastes on the z5,s6 makes better picture,and so on... go to dxomark the END. m..o.s

it look like it dosent have it,but how cares,i have some feelling people most care about specs,and they dont know anything about phones,thats way they care about specs a lot
