Tann Hauser, 28 Aug 2016Dont go vain on me fella. Whats wrong.with ya? You seem to... moreI'm not trying to fuc.k with u, i state that the cameras are recording in the resolution you put em to record. The phones aren't recording in 6k and then downscale the videos in 4k, or 1080p.

If this was happening it wouldn't matter in which resolution we record, as the phone would end up being a toaster, literally. Sony z5 can record 1080p until it runs out of memory, and 4k until it heats up.
It would heat up if it was recording in 6k, no matter if i put 1080p or 4k as the end result.

AnonD-404798, 28 Aug 2016I'm not sure who is right , either you or Tann , and honest... moreSony might be doing it on their high end cameras (high end big as.s bulky cameras), but Z5 or Xp are not cameras, neither have big bulky camera sensors, neither a processor powerful enough to handle 6k recording without burning itself, facts are facts. They are phones with cameras. Great cameras yes, but limited due to sensor size. I have to agree on the "who cares?" part as it really doesn't matter, but for the convo going on, ill continue.

You can't compare a big professional camera that's made for video recording, with a phone camera. Simply because it's a phone on the end, not a professional camera. I hope this clears these nonsense about 6k recording.

AnonD-481725, 29 Aug 2016Dear Dinex, use you xperia z5 and record a vedio recording ... moreill do it as soon as i can! you'll see it won't shut down even at 60fps fhd with stabilisation on. On my way

PS: My real name is Denis, and DenisXD everywhere online.
My name is not Dinex, Binex or cleanex.

DenisXD, 28 Aug 2016I have to learn photography and video basics!.. ok. You ... moreDear Dinex, use you xperia z5 and record a vedio recording with 1080p 60fps, use cpu temperature application from the play store to measure the temperature, then you will understand what I am trying to discuss.

AnonD-404798, 28 Aug 2016I'm not sure who is right , either you or Tann , and honest... moreYes that is what i am trying to say, remember that vedio about vedio recording comparison be xperia x and samsung s7 which been deleted later, during the test xperia x reported overheating then shutdown then the reviewer directly measured the temperature of both devices and they were the same at 40 C, this temperature is not overhea, XPERIA X AND X PERFORMANCE ARE NOT OVERHEATING.

Is this 3GB weakling still capped at 1080p video recording?

AnonD-404798, 28 Aug 2016I'm not sure who is right , either you or Tann , and honest... moreIf I remember correctly, on prior devices temp alarm and app forceclose were set to higher 47 celsius

Whats wrong.with ya? You seem to be in "fight mode" or sth.
Sensor picks up all by default, software picks what it needs.
You are talking downsampling, I talk about cropping.
Video no matter what res, at 60 fps is more straining than 30 fps, include double stabilisation postprocessing, even more so...
29 min at 60 with steady and IAM is quite good...
Will be better with updates Im cerain

You ... moreI'm not sure who is right , either you or Tann , and honestly don't care but SONY does for example do 6K full pixel readout to produce ''perfect'' oversampled 4K video in some of their cameras like for example A6300 LOL . but why argue about something unimportant as that? and fact is that phone didn't overheat in case of Xperia X an X Performance , it was at 38-39C but warning message still did appear on some of the models and eventually closed down the camera app to ''cool down'' , I myself believe that it was some software issue , hope that Sony fully fixed it by now. they should have unless they want their reputation image to be further tarnished because of such stupid mistakes .

Kenny, 28 Aug 2016This phone should had 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM and 4000mAh batter... more4 Gb of ram are needless for sony, sony smartphones can perform excellent and better than other devices with just 3 GB of ram. The storage of this smartphone can be expanded by an sd card by 256 GB maximum. 4000 mah battery is overcapacity 3200 mah would excellent, but the 2700 mah is very good.

Tann Hauser, 28 Aug 2016Dude, learn sensor basics... Its recieving and processing ... moreI have to learn photography and video basics!.. ok.

You do realise how smart you sound?.. NOT. saying the camera uses all 23mp to record then decreases the resolution to 1080p or 4k is so stupid i can't even.. . If it was recording at 6k the phone would probably end up burning within seconds.

The camera records at the resolution you put it to record, hense why it overheats by recording in 4k. Meaning the sensor is using 8,3mp in 4k, not 23.
You need lessons.. do you know what is oversampling?

This phone should had 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM and 4000mAh battery. But still it is good phone.

Its recieving and processing all inbuilt mpx, then downgrading to specific res....

Tann Hauser, 28 Aug 2016You are overreacting. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GdI4... more23mp? Wtf?
Dude 1080p is using only the 3mp of sensor, 4k uses 8,3mp of the sensor. The video recording doesn't take any advantage of more mp atm. 23mp is over 5520 pixels, it's not 1920 pixels, neither 3840 (4k).

What does colour have to do with resolution? What does zoom has to do with resolution?
you clearly don't know much.. both of you.

X Perf overheats at 29 min recording 1080p at 60 fps....
Its good but it could do better yes...
Bare in mind we are talking about a 23 mpx sensor videoprocessing here, not some 12mpx, and that 1080p at 60 fps with Steadyshot and IAM on is twice more straining on SoC than same with 30fps, and almost same as 4K at 30fps with only basic stabilization.
There is a certain temp at which it shuts down, of course if you strain the device prior by excessive testing and cause SoC heatup, it ll record for less than that cause it will reack max temp app block sooner...
Bare in mind even your z5 recorded less 4K than it can now on prior firmwares, and got better at it with updates..
The z3+ in this video is proof that Sony improves on overheat app shutdown time by every update.

And Im affraid there is NO other phone on this planet with 23mpx sensor using DIS for stabilization to compare as to how successful Sony is at optimizing its videorecording.

DenisXD, 27 Aug 2016really ? i wonder why.. I mean xp doesn't overheat by r... moreNo it needs a little bit of intelligence, as i always said both xperia x and xp are not overheating, they are just adjusted earlier to report overheat and shutdown, either sony find that this is the wise adjustment or they will improve it later, regarding to the 4K video recording, do you know what is the benefits from it? Offcourse you are not expecting to see 4K vedio in full resolution by a 1080p display, the real benefits from it is that it gives more sharpener colors and it is better for zooming, but what if the 1080p optimized to give also more accurate colors, then you will have more space and less overheating more power efficiency more life for your smartphone in general.
Please if you are here just to downgrade sony smartphones or our opinions just don't.

DenisXD, 27 Aug 2016really ? i wonder why.. I mean xp doesn't overheat by r... moreThe only thing that needs to stop is you ranting dude. My buddy just got the new Note 7 and it was overheating so he returned it. So don't talk to me about the XP overheating. That was the 810's fault, NOT Sony's. The XP has the much-improved 820. Get your facts straight.

RockStar2005, 27 Aug 2016Hey Andy, If you want 4K camera on the XP, it IS availa... morereally ? i wonder why..

I mean xp doesn't overheat by recording in just 1080p or anything, so why?..

Dude.. just stop. Just stop and avoid further humiliation. X performance overheats by recording 1080p. it's quite obvious why sony skipped 4k all together from x series! That's COMMON KNOWLEDGE! it doesn't take a genius to see it!
