got this phone as a replacement of previous one that crashed and now after 1 yr screen sensitivity on home buttons is gone.worst device ever

Had this phone for about 2 years. Had similar problems to everyone else with the edges of the screen not working, so unable to use parts of the keyboard such as "P". I cannot use the notification dropdown because of the screen issue. The home and back buttons are also very unresponsive.
I've also found the cameras to be pretty bad as well, especially the front camera. Whenver I take a photo it takes around 3 seconds to actually take a photo. The front camera looks blurred and tints yellow despite playing around with the settings.
The phone will also sometimes randomly hang up phone calls. Overall I don't recommend, too many issues.

I did sell my 5 months old silver z5 premium and bought this. Although z5 premium was the flagship of its time but it was launched i think 1-1.5 years later. both having same camera and xa1 was very light in weight. Z5 display was very sharp but not so bright and sometimes i used to put that in refrigerator 😅 because it get heated to that temperature so nobody can touch that. I have changed 2 phones after that and still xa1 is working perfectly fine for exact last 3 years. Faced touch issue earlier but service center rectified that.

Therefore connector not go deep enough. I have had same problem with two phones with USB-C. The dust could be very tight on the bottom of connector, so you can't blow it away. Best tools has been stick, what you use to open sim card holder.

Recently new purchase experia a1 ..unfortunately within 2 weeks got message " home keeps stopping - x close app" and nothing else is visible with the exception of time ..anyone with similar issue

RandyRiffin, 16 Jul 2020Same thing with me. Been dealing with this for a year now. ... moreStarted with the Oreo update for me, same symptoms as everyone i.e edges no longer responding to touch. Sony was pretty unhelpful about it but thankfully it was still under warranty and bought in a store, so they sent it back for screen replacement. They also replaced a speaker part although I'm not sure why. In any case, the phone was fixed and I'm still using it!
The fact that so many people have reported the issue and that some replacements didn't work probably means that a batch or generation of screens was incompatible with Oreo so if your phone has this, not only will you need to change the screen but also make sure it is with a working one..
To those who deny the problem exists.. Seriously why would everyone be reporting exactly the same symptoms? Just consider yourself lucky you got a phone that's not faulty. No one's saying it's a bad device.

You have to like press the edge of your thumb on the p or q keys and slowly release your finger. For the notification bar, you pull with your thumb horizontally and put pressure in the edge of the screen. I know, it's hard.

It's so frustrating. I even replaced the screen, after a month or so, the same issues.

1 Year I'm using the this phone main week point is unable to get closer macro images. & this phone have very very tiny smaller fonts bad to reading for eyes.
1. poor quality closer macro images
2. Very Smaller Fonts. not good for eyes.
3. camera photo size always 5 MB size and sometimes 10 MB size that is bad thing
and difficult to email fast, always want to use photo reduce app

* Dedicated side camera button very help full
* Main camera excellent clear sharp good color photo & wide range more details have in
photo. great contrast,color and dynamic range also good
* night time photo excellent
* Dark area photos Very good no Noises
* Selfie camera also good have in more details wide rang photo
* Noise Recording & Loud Sound Quality very good.
* Fast boost charging very help to me no wasting time.
* The camera software has probably improved. & good

had this phone for over 2 years now. it's a brilliant phone, and i love the quality photograps i've taken with it, but my biggest problem with it is the charging and have had that issue for over a year. seems like the c type charger gets broken quickly, and now i have to put weight on both sides of the phone and have to be gentle doing so to even get it to charge. and of course it doesn't have the option for wireless charging, which would help with my situation. so annoying. that is literally the only reason why i'll soon be changing to a completely different brand
