Why is this phone more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE? Seriously, it is just an updated Z5. It's three years behind the S7 Edge in specs and features.

I've been using the XZ for three weeks now. The phone is the Dual-SIM version, with 64GB of storage, and a fingerprint sensor. I got it for USD 550.

The apps I use are more responsive on the XZ than any of the Asus phones I've bought in the past; this might be because I'm using Nougat on it, but I can't be sure. In fact, the apps ( I don't have games installed ) respond so immediately that I doubt any competitor could improve on it.

I've gently washed the phone a few times without any persisting issues: the music from the speakers may sound scratchy while they are still water-clogged, giving it a good rattle in your hand clears it up.

I haven't played with the camera alot as I don't know really understand what I need to do with the ISO, aperture etc to improve photos, but I've been pleased with my frivolous attempts so far. I hope Sony produce a few tutorials for us in the future.

Just wanted to say that the XZ really is a very good purchase for the price I paid for it.

Regula... moreAlkaleido is not regukar aluminium ..... it is high purity metal..also...ALKALEIDO metal creates a more “ shiny, ‘shimmery’ look that we think is beautiful from every angle”, compared to the traditional aluminium used on phones where you can see the slight lines/grain from the material.

[deleted post]Its quite entertaining tho, that a complaint like this comes from non other than...a supossedly fresh S7 user,

Avan Dr, 29 Jan 2017Yes, sony loves to name and trademark everything. Regula... moreOmni-Balance is the term coined by Sony to describe a smartphone that has a balanced design that can be accessed from every single side. The idea is that an Omni-Balance smartphone, such as the Sony Xperia Z5, can be comfortable to use, no matter which of the four sides it is currently being viewed from.

Because of the way Sony has made their smartphones specifically, using an Xperia device in portrait mode, landscape, or even upside down feels easier and more convenient than many other smartphones. Even if the bezel on Sony’s smartphones is larger, the balanced, symmetrical design makes up for this when it comes to using it from all angles.

Many other phone companies have had exploding phone batterys over the years. e.g., Iphone, Sony and Nokia. Sony mobile has had several explosions in recent years.

                                  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3390266/Sony-smartphone-explodes-man-s-melted-bedroom-carpet.html

Sony had 4 complete series recalls of exploding batterys in its laptops from 2006 - 2014.

In 2006, alone, Sony recalled 9.6 million laptops after problems with exploding batteries.

Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba and Dell products have recalled over 4.1 million Sony batterys.

Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba and Dell are all sueing Sony for Sony's exploding batterys.

Tann Hauser, 28 Jan 2017Yeah, you sure know what overheat actually means... Thats ... moreAs you are aware, Samsung and Iphones rule in numbers world wide. These 2 brands have built up their great reputation the years, while Sony's reputation has dramatically fallen to outside the top 10 in sales numbers.
Real owners of these sucessfull phones know the truth. In fact you don't own any recent flagship smartphone and your comments are solely what you dream to believe.

Fact is, I owned a crappy Z5 with its overheating problems, bad battery life and low speaker volume. Of course, the overheating was mainly due to the Snapdragon 810 chip. Why Sony ever used this 810 chip is beyond logic. Especially after the failed Z3+. Other brands were aware of the 810 fault and used a 808 chip. Samsung S6 used it own Exynos chip.
Strangely, the XZ can still oerheat and shutdown, same as the Z5. Samsung S7 doesn't. I am a owner of the S7, you are NOT.

Do you really want to talk about battery problems with Sonys history of exploding batterys ?

You should actually read user comments under these yt videos I posted.

Xperia at least is smart enough to shut down the app to prevent overheat and shutdown of the device itself.

And do come back when your battery also goes berserk, we ll love your input on that.

Good luck with your new device.( not that you ever owned a Z5 in fact, just pretending).
