Refer the second image comparison (Outdoor Zoom in), the Xperia XZ1 doesn't taken distortion image, but the iPhone 6s plus and iPhone 8 taken distortion image, you can check the lodge's door have distortion for iPhone 6s plus and iPhone 8, but the Xperia XZ1 doesn't capture the distortion lodge's door, so the Sony distortion Could have been trolling as bad marketing strategy by the competitors.
But you can see the iPhone 6s plus and iPhone 8 capture distortion image, but why don't you trolling there?

but among all of them, xperia is the most distorted. sony is the best sensor maker, but cannot use its own sensors properly. sony's image processing technology sucks

And the worst is the most expensive price between all smartphones.
Xz1 precisely is better in everything, anything comes into your mind from display, battery, cameras..... into the price xz1 better.

Test, 17 Oct 2017Is the battery any good? How much sot can I get with full charge?5+ hrs.. even it will cross 6 depending on Ur usage.. some even get 7 hrs.

Better screen, better design, better OS, better connectivity, faster modem, more extra camera functions, better sound, better AR, better IP rating, better build, better expandability, better batterylife, same speed, better price...
One thing only iph8 has over XZ1 is....better graphic performance.
But choose the XZ1 Compact and iph8 doesnt even have that advantage as they perform the same.
Heck, iph8 still records mono sound...in 2017.?!

1) Depending where you are in the world, the Sony is way cheaper.
2) Android OS (way more flexible and OpenSource)
3) Very customisable. Make the phone look like you want it to.
4) Camera is good (on par with iPhone, at least)
5) Real world performance is on par with iPhone
6) All the same connectivity, plus 3,5mm jack
7) Accessories and everything else is way cheaper. (And easier to come by, or borrow when needed)
8).... and the list goes on...
Check out comparisons on YouTube, but they often fail to capture the little things that make the big differences.

The general public are quite aware of flagship phones these days and that why iphone and Samsung have the majority market share. It seems that Sony always comes last in its class with photography. The problem is in Sonys camera software optimation. This has been a flaw for years now and we all hope that Sony can resolve these isssues. Anyway below is part of gsmarenas review.
"When the sun goes down, things get a little bit too blurry for our taste. On the one hand, there is the lack of OIS. But even if you make it a habit to go out with a tripod, the XZ1 still loses a lot of detail in the dark due to heavy-handed noise reduction, which ironically isn't doing all that good of a job of masking the noise itself. It's not a terrible performance by any means, but it's just lagging behind the flagship competition."

In 2018, Sony is finally making the needed changes. Such as using OIS, changing to OLED screens, going to bezeless screens, dual rear cameras. There will also be edge screens if thats your choice. And hopefully dropping the aged, ugly, brick like style of phones.

I f... moreAll things have it pro and con,same as well for a phone ,even though its a flagship its still have down side not all perfect,even s8 have a down side,but consumer didnt need to picky to much,because all flagship this day all good enough,just choose want has being desire,the only things that is my advice to is ,you should be greatful next,because their alot of other people want xz1 but they cant due to under circumstance,but you,you can had xz1 but you return it back just because a small matter,just a small advice,cheers..

I f... moreDude, i am not sure why you are so desperate to praise the IPhone 8 camera knowing that i have watched tenth of video comparisons on YouTube, read thousands of comments, rarely i see iPhones won against other smartphones, Google pixel 2, Sony Xperia xz1, premium.. Samsung Galaxy s8, LG V30, are proven to be better than iPhone 8, so what makes you do such effort unless you are die hard Apple fan.

I find it fascinating how some fanboys can come up with things to defend their phone brand's shortcomings and flaws. While I have the iPhone I can admit that the screen of the XZ1 and S8 are better than on my iPhone. In some situations my sister's S8 makes better photos than iPhone 8 and I admit that and give her a compliment about her great camera. I'm not a fanboy myself and never will be. To each their own of course.

I wish Sony went back to Xperia Z2 design. The phone looked classy than its predecessor and successor.
