Sony is good for overall hardware performance.. Good battery with awesome Music output.. Try to hear Hi-Res files.. Again, it is not for Low light photographers..

After almost a day of having the XZ1 I am planning to return it. I'm very sad about the low light camera performance. The lack of OIS is really showing. I also have an iPhone 8 and my brother has a 6s Plus. Both these iPhones beat the XZ1 in ALL low light pictures especially in sharpness when you zoom in you see it clearly. I understand why iPhone 8 has received such a high DXOMark score, it really has an amazing and reliable camera. I am a little bit sad about the XZ1 because it's a fantastic phone in all other departments. The screen is beautiful and bright and I like that you can change the white balance, the speed is phenomenal, really great optimization by Sony, and battery life is one of the best I've ever seen for such a powerful phone. Around 7 hours of screen-on time easily. But like I said, I'll probably return the XZ1 and just buy an iPhone 7 as a secondary phone next to my iPhone 8 which is the king of smartphones of 2017 for me :)

Totally, all of them (neo xz series) r shamefully smartphone I have ever seen! Especially those great bezels!! Just damn ;_;

I will receive this phone today in the silver colorr. I also have an iPhone 8 (also silver) that I use as my main phone but I like having two phones to use one of them only at home as a tiny tablet haha. So the Sony is meant for home use. But there's a chance I'll like the XZ1 more than the iPhone 8 haha. We'll see. Can't wait!

Sony xz premium is one of the best phones in terms of picture quality and how amazing super vivid mode enhances your images, I don't know those critisizing this amazing flagships why .this is for Sony fun guys join and enjoy amazing wonders from Sony

That's the real truth from here at gsmarena, the most trusted mobile phone site in the world. Just ignore these Sony fanboys desperately promoting and lying about Sony here. You will find 50 x more you tube videos showing the bad light photography of this Sony phone. In 2018, Sony is finally using OIS in its cameras and will be dropping the cheap, aged EIS technology. Also Sony is dropping the Bezeless design and adopting OLED screen technology.
Basically to get good lowlight photography with Sony phones, you must use manual mode and a Tripod. Kinda totally againt the idea of mobile phones, especially when other brands only need Auto mode and NO tripod.

Is it true?After the Sony Xperia xz in 2016, Sony recognized that they are in need for a new camera sensor since although the 23mp camera does excellent job in good light but it was struggling in low light, Sony introduced a new camera sensor "Motion eye" the most advanced camera sensor until now which has less mp "19" than its previous sensor but it has larger pixel size, the result was magnificent, additional to the excellent daylight photography Sony finally achieved a near excellent lowlight photography, while other smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Apple... went with the new dual camera lense trend contemplating for better performance and the result were a proof for their ignorance in this tech, most smartphone manufacturers again including Samsung and Apple went with OIS and EIS together "image stabilization techs" while these companies are struggling to surpass Sony smartphones which uses only EIS, btw watch these most famous camera comparisons videos for xz1, don't forget to share your opinion downside in the comments if you found any difficulties.

About low light... As Xperia doesn't have OIS I can't think that it will be good without manual mode with super steady hand or tripod.
Also the Xperia's sensor has small size when compare to other sensor.
For example the sensor for current SONY's flagship phone is IMX400 has 1.22 μm pixel size. The google pixel (old one) use IMX378 which has 1.55 μm pixel size. so the pixel has much better low light quality.

Or read Sony reviews here at gsmarena which always comment on Sonys bad low light photography. One of the reasons why, is the Sony only uses the cheap EIS technology which is known for bad low light photography. Better photography uses OIS. Plus there is the bad Sony camera software also.
Remember that your asking in a Sony forum,so Sony fanboys will always deny the truth.

sdfs, 08 Oct 2017The big bezels, low audio volume, poor night camera quality... moreI guess you dont have the xz1 otherwise you would not say that i just got my xz1 yesterday and i testet the loudspeaker and it is more then loud enoung also with headphones attached and it is so loud then it can destroy you ears and i got it delievert with WH-H900N and that is a fantastic headset and i use only 65 % og the volume and this was loud enoung so you can try it by you self and then answere before posting your opinion here

I love the way sony is making phones these days . After xperia x I have seen some real efforts by the company to make some good phones . X compact was the best phone I have seen in years . Perfect phone in the hand. It fits like a glove. Though maybe not flagship but still amazing. And xz had an amazing camera . Good job sony .
