Does your compact still work after 3g shutdown? Tmo is shutting down our 3g July 1..Hence I bought the 5ll.. I'd really like to keep my Compact though if it will work.A kid in a Tmo store said it would keep getting data though he wasn't sure if the phone itself would get&receive calls. I hope you see this and respond.Thanks.

I have been using this phone for 4 years. The battery is still very good. The automatic touch phone is faulty. Also the speaker is broken .. I have got 4 Sony phones ... all of them have speaker issues ... sony ericsson phones are great .. but after Sony bought it they failed to produce phones of that quality ..

Using this device now late 2021. You could get it for cheaps. Performance is still superb. Playing pubg with it smooth with ultra fps. Camera is still great and I'm using an external ultrawide phone lens with my shots so I can't be bothered with upgrading yet and there is no real successor to other compact phone out there yet or will never be. This is really great for shot and go photography. I used z5 compact,x compact, xz1 compact and now this. Prior to using the compacts I also used the galaxy note 8, note 9 and 10 and changing to compact gives freedom to your pockets. I ordered an extra battery for the xz2c cause It's a 2018 phone and battery degrade over time and I saw plenty utube teardowns and I tried it and it really is easy. Got mine from grablndbayone ph seller from shopee for penoy people looking to get this device.

It's 2022 so on good to go with this small beast of flagship device.its compact with plenty of features that not offer any other company in such a compact size
Sony is the only one uptill to deliver a massive handy phone with excellent screen, camera, performance and battery life I'm loved it .no lag no stucking with heavy games and apps runs smoothly and flawless

Using this phone late 2021 and I could prove that it is still capable. The size is really perfect per say for pocketability and on the hands. The camera is still great. People nowadays would opt for dual camera set ups because of either macro or an ultrawide lens but I found that using a cheaper and capable external phone lens with clip being sold online could do the trick instead of changing into different phones which is not necessary even if you're a power user or a mobile gamer. The screen is just perfect size together with its super vivid mode that gives a push to images especially during reading webtoons and manhuas. The sd 845 is still capable. I'm using it for pubg with graphics set to smooth and extreme fps. The battery still holds up well though I've already purchased an extra battery incase of failure. I've tried opening my phone with philips and spunger only which I learned from watching witrigs. It's really simple and easy reapairability. I recommend this phone for people looking for a decent compact smartphone in this age. This maybe the last decent performing compact phone out there.P.s a trick I learned over the years is that to use a bigger 6" size or more phones like the note 9-10+ etc for over a week then switch to phones with 5.7/5.8 screen phones like the s10e or zenfone 8 and you're perception would be tricked that you're holding on somethng compact which is just the illusion but is effective if you're only options are those phones. This happened to me but soon realized that they're still big of a phone when it goes into your pocket.

Bogdanovic, 14 May 2021Worth buying in may 2021? If you want compact device, good ... moreYes, if the battery is good or if you replace the battery. If you want the latest Android 11 updates, you'll need to change the operating system to LineageOS which means backing up the Digital Rights Management keys first. That is no easy task for most people. Otherwise, the phone works fine on Android 10, which is the latest Sony update.

I work on construction sites with them plugged in to the phone all day. Never had the socket break due to strain though, probably because the plug grip is short. I do break the earphones occasionally, especially when they are just dangling outside from the collar of my shirt. I'll never switch to bluetooth earphones because I'll lose them if they aren't in my ears.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2021How to fix ghost touch problem on xz2cI read on the XDA Developers website that a spark zapper from a barbecue lighter fixes ghost touches for the XZ2 Compact. I probably can't post links here but you can search for it.

Still my favorite phone to hold in my hand. The extra thickness gives it a feeling of durability.
The analog audio out through the USB-C is good too because I can buy cheap earphones which don't need a DAC chip inside and the connection is better than a 3.5mm jack.
Will Sony ever make a new version of this 135mm long phone?
