I wish that the rumour of Sony moving to OLED panels in the upcoming XZ Pro just stay at what it currently is... a rumour (even if they are produced by JOLED) - I don't know... it's a bold/risky move with less life span than a crisp IPS LCD; if I am going to acquire the latter in 2018 (and it'll be more than US$1000 in my country due to an international price plus taxes and all though) I don't want my display to be useless with pixel degradation, burn-ins, still/ghostly images or hefty colour tints in 2 years or less... and throw it to the garbage or to rip off the frame, change the display (or filter) and lose aesthetics, IP68 protection or warranty -
I'm anxiously waiting to the announcement in Feb. the 26th so... please Sony give us a crispy, sharp/detailed and colorful LCD IPS 4K HDR 5,7" (with less bezels yes... but not bezel-less sticked to the frame) display as you have done in all these years that CAN and WILL last for years...
Even if the contrast ratio or the blacks are not as pure, major energy consumption, assembly price and the need of more physical space and sturdiness... but the color saturation, sharpness, wider gamut, brightness due to more nits, solar exposure, clearer whites, not so eco-damaging, artificial back-lighting diodes... Jesus; all due to Samsung, Apple, the market and the greed of the companies in these tendencies that oblige the consumer to be up-to-date to buy and recycle in cycles gadgets with older and organic technology... now cheaper for them to make and even more and more pricey for us to buy... it's expected that by 2020 the mobile market will be flooded at a 50-50% (OLED, AMOLED, P-OLED,
SUPERAMOLED, CTF-OLED vs TFT-LCD, SUPER LCD, IPS-LCD) and we'll be stuck in the middle of the fight for that share as it tends towars to a monopolization of OLED or QLED... though µLED is currently in diappers for the mobile market, am I right?
Too bad that it's not convenient anymore to gross up and increase the budget for some R&D Sony... your displays were perfect for me with Triluminos, X-Reality, sRGB controls, etc.

I don't know... what do you think? What do you all guys think? (Especially you Tann as I' ve always agreed with the vast majority of your comments/opinions)
Sony fan here with a Z3 that will turn 4 years in a couple of months... if it comes with OLED and no 3,5mm headphone jack, guess I'll buy the XZ Premium!

Somebody know how to activate 4k display? It is full hd by default. Please tell about battery life after activation.

Pls don't get me wrong, that just my personal opinion.. I love XZP build quality, hardware and software, it's about Sony and I totally love it.. XZP rear cam is very good, color is decent. In daylight the photos taken are well detailed, but for my eyes the P10 is slightly sharper and true to life. In lowlight (auto mode), P10 is better but in manual mode XZP is sharper and less noise. I'm a point-and-shoot (auto mode) person, and I think Sony should improve the hardware especially for camera. For video mode, XZP is the clear winner against P10, the EIS on Sony is fantastic and the footage looks amazing. 960fps slo-mo is nice feature too.. Totally, i'm satisfied with my XZP, but in the future I wish Sony will give us better camera experience (since Sony sensor is the maestro in mobile world), bigger battery and louder stereo speaker.. Looking forward to another Sony device soon (MWC Barcelona)

In spite of being prod... moreYep, but glad that they made daylight photos have better white balance and lesser noise than previous ones for Superior Auto. For low-light, using Manual Mode would help in the noise, but even if u lower the ISO and change shutter speed, noise is still noticeable. They just need to get their software right

Seriously, XZP does wonders in daylight photos than any other phones except during nighttime which requires manual tinkering,

Using the device for around 2 month, I have to admit the camera quality in auto mode is quite weak, not sharp enough in daylight compared to my friends Huawei P10, low light too, quite blur and dark.. The speaker is good for stereo though on quiet side.. Overall, XZP is very premium device, great quality and fast performance..

LIRKER, 24 Jan 2018Got this one about 4 days ago and tested it, overall it's w... moreI feel the same way initially, however I've managed to find a way to tweak my XZP to get a more colorful pictures in low light conditions.
To do this, just use superior auto mode then go to the settings, turn off "object tracking" , then you will be able to use "color and brightness" and you're good to go.
To make the most use of color and brightness, simply tap the screen then, the color and brightness sign ll display on the screen before taking any shot.

In spite of being producer of camera sensor, this was unacceptable for me. The lowlight was same as my OnePlus 5T. They really needs to give attention on this one. Lowlight pictures came out blurry and plenty of noises.

I then told her to return the phone to where she bought it and get herself the RED XZP.

Got this one about 4 days ago and tested it, overall it's worth the money! The display is incredible, battery lasts for a day with normal usage, mirror back panel which is nice but I put a cases on it for safety, but one thing doesn't satisfied me, the camera. Daylight was fantastic but lowlight just acceptable. By the way, 4.2 out of 5 and I can say good job Sony!

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2018There's "Manual" for a reason and you can lower it to 12mp ... moreikr but their native mp is 19mp so if downgrade to 12mp, it wont same with other phones with native 12mp camera.
