Just got mine updated.. Received the update on the 22nd. Everything is smooth. Better performance overall. Looks sleeker. No battery issues. Just a little lag when dragging down d notification bar. That's it

The battery drain was caused by a google play services ver. 4.4.52. I´ve got 5.0.89 and have no battery issues whatsoever. Mine is now 99% charged and says remaining battery time: 6 days, in standby mode: 11 days and 16 hours. With light usage runs 2-3 days (bloatware disabled, network set to 2G)

Rooting is essential if you wanna flash custom ROM. (you also need to unlock the bootloader) I didn´t flash any custom ROM as I´m satisfied with the stock one, just to install busybox and autorun manager. They make the phone a bit snappier.

I'll change it with Z2 in next few months. The new Z3 edges are round so I'll take the Z2. The phone price drops very fast in Australia. The price of Xperia Z2 already dropped to $500 AUD...

I've used this xperia z c6602 for 1 year. So far no problem. Maybe the battery, but that can be done with always bring my powerbank.
Cross on my mind, that i want to changed to into oppo find 7 for better screen resolution but, if the camera is still 13 mp.
So i still kept my xperia z for maybe next 1 year.
I loved this phone. This my longest used time for smartphone, usually only for about 6 month, i already changed to other brand.
