The Sony Xperia Z launched a year ago and was probably the most important handset launch for Sony since it started its Android journey. The Xperia Z, along with the Xperia Tablet Z, helped deliver a breakthrough year for Sony Mobile, which the company built upon with the Xperia Z1 and more recently, the new Z2 flagship devices.
The introduction of a water resistant flagship device with stunning looks and great specs was no doubt key to its success. The Xperia Z was the first OmniBalance design, which Sony has been wise to use again for the Xperia Z1 and Z2 handsets. People are starting to recognise Xperia devices with its signature design language and this can only be a good thing.
Anyway, we wanted to hear from Xperia Z owners now that the phone is one year old. How are you getting on with the handset – is it still serving you well or have you already moved on? What do you like and what don’t you like? The "most" worst phone you can ever buy for such a price. Nothing else to say. I am using it. And since it is so costly cant even think of throwing it. So now i am just stuck with it.

i am going to buy the phone phone because its water-proof upto 1.5 meters, if water leaks in then its because your playing with your port covers and the rubber has worn thats why you get a contract with virgin media because 2 years insurance including accidental damage, yes it will overheat if you have a high usage due to it being water proof to stop it overheating keep your ports open if you go near water shut them :-), the camera isnt bad people have just got bad tremors, it does have auto focus but you still need to keep it roughly still, if you have a bit more money i would say get the xperia z1, all of the thrills of the z but more POWER

I was a big fan of sony smartphones, one of my worst experiences realized me not to buy or promote these phones from sony. I own Xperia Z, few months before I noticed pale pink color on water indicator near charging port and reported the same to sony service center. After a through check up made by sony, they reported no problem and phone is alright. Now after few months later, I faced ear speaker problem, and reported to sony saying this. Sony replayed back saying that, phone cannot be repaired, it can be replaced but the pale color on water indicator near charging port says that it is a water damage and hence warranty is voided. To get replacement for this phone, sony has asked me to pay somewhere around 85% of actual cost in the market. This is very dissapointment for me and I regret for buying sony and their worst service delivered. I sincerely apologize to my friends for recommending to buy smartphone from sony.

Well, to checking if your Xperia is an Original do the following,
1. Get a laptop and install "Sony PC Companion"
2. Connect the Phone to laptop via usb cable
If the Sony PC companion detects and shows the phone Xperia Z as connected, it is the original xperia z then :)

I am using this phone since 8 months; faced no problems; now there is always possibility of the user to keep the phone in good condition and for this it is required that the user perform certain regular operations; firstly the software update: everybody knows that it is important; secondly never go back to the home screen via the home button but use the back button because by using the home button there remains residual programs in memory which eat up memory and processing power, therefore always use the back button to go back: this eases the load on the memory;
secondly the phone should be switched off and rebooted twice every week to keep the memory clean and the transmitters healthy; I am doing this regularly and find no problems.

I don't really keep track of it. But I believe the battery's much better than how other people make it out to be.

Can anyone tell me how can I find out the original xperia Z?? Is the phone is better than samsung grand 2 or blackberry z10??plz help me out. I want to buy this phone but some of my friends tell me different story.. :(

And the camera is really good... Really. Very nice quality.
I haven't done any upgrading yet.
