Sony Xperia Z

I've been using this phone for about 8 months now. I've gone from 4.1 to 4.2 to 4.3 and I can understand why people think the Xperia Z is a bad phone on purchase date. I have grown to love this phone and here how and why :
> Screen is brilliant. 5" full HD and excellent colour saturation.
> Sleek design. The waterproofing adds an extra layer of security to an already sturdy phone. Extremely well built.
> Good specs. Fantastic super quick processor, lots of ram. Excellent camera.
Tips for when you get your Xperia Z :
> Get your self a screen protector front and back. If you love the sleek design, you'll love it even more if you get a screen protector so you can use your phone without some silly bulky case.
> Update to 4.3 asap. Battery life isnt an issue on the Xperia Z. The device is solid, the software wasnt in previous updates. Is now.
> Get Nova Launcher from the app store. If you bought this phone, you will want to utilise the full 5" screen. Nova allows you to hide Sonys rubbish skin and replace with a fully customisable Android skin. Change font size, icon size, margins. You can even hide the notification bar and use gestures. It isnt processor intensive and looks amazing.
> Get a SanDisk Ultra memcard (max 32gb). I picked one up for £20. Worth it as the ultras have the fastest read write speed and makes the phone a full on media device.
> Be prepared to charge everyday. Most people moaning about battery life tend to forget that your carrying a HD screen packed into a slim waterproof unit. The battery isnt so good because its a small battery. You could get loads of power saving apps that switch off everything but whats the point in having a phone with these specs? Just accept you have to charge and enjoy your phone.

Hello,
I have a little review about the phone..well I was using it for about 3 months.. Before I was a samsung s2,s3 user.. so I will use them for comparing
Pros- HD screen 5"
battery better then on the samsung (gps on, sync on, wifi,data) at the end of the day left me about 15%
no lag
cons- camera is awful, noisy, led is not so powerfull
can't shrink the soft keys
I would recommend that you buy some bluetooth headphones, and a charging dock cuz of the rubber seals

dr. ashwani maan, 12 Jan 20144.1 I had no problems with BT on Z running 4.1 (but not saying they didnt exist for others). Anyway you are lucky, because you can upgrade your phone to Android 4.3 and see if that solves your problem. Just connect it to your PC and install Sony PC Suite when asked (the phone will ask, not the PC) and im sure you can take it from there.
It is not advisable to run Z on 4.1.2, especially not the first revision that shipped with early Z units, as overheating can happen and over time that will cause the back glass panel to come loose in the upper corner near the camera, compromising the phones waterproofing.

was great for two weeks but now 'broken' and on way back to Sony. Vibration stuck on 24/7 ...horrible noise and battery drain. web search shows many others with same problem and is a design fault with no fix. No information on the fault from Sony .....disappointing

Is... moreIt can last two days with wifi or cellular internet constantly connected, the problem of Z is the screen on time is not so high, around 6 hours of screen time with webbrowsing, a couple hours more with video (important: use 3rd party video player).
Its well worth the upgrade from ZR, Z has superior display and 3 times more available internal storage and much slimmer. Frontcam isnt great on Z either but in daylight it takes pretty good photos and videos, 10x better than ZR which is more like a $10 chinaphone.
On a side note, i think many ZR owners regret they didnt get the Z instead in the first place, and i expected that, i have frequently warned against ZR and tried to make people realize that its actually the Xperia V2 and the battery is the only meaningful upgrade over Xperia V.

After reading alot of reviews between xperia z and Galaxy s4.i purchased xperia z 1 week ago.And believe me guys all the bad reviews about xperia z must be written by anti-sony guys. This phone rocks
And now let me tell you how you can avoid battery issues
1: Reduce screen whitness
2:Switch on Stamina Mode when you are not expecting emergent mails etc
CAMERA is very good as all time sony's is well known in this spec
Processor really rocking
And fantastic look of xperia z
the guys who looking to buy just grab this smartphone it have all the things which you guys need . by look.by spec.by speed Its perfect
Sony is still best then others

The Wifi connection improved after I updated it to 4.3 and I don't have that restarting issue of lucky me!! Try to ' repair' the software via SUS. It might fix your problem.

Hi guys. I am planning to buy this phone and sell my ZR. Is the battery really that bad? I can use my ZR from 7am to 11pm in a single charge with continous wifi.

I don't really like the colour of the settings they chose, they should have atleast given us a choice, I hope they fixed the wifi signal problem and the restarting problem, or else this update would be completely pointless.
