i got my xperia z a month ago...the best sony i ever had after xperia s,k800, k750 and k600...

first one is 3 years old yet going strong- never hangs, no repair. sony has got the best hardware and as we know sony is expert in camera and audio visual , so top q screen and sound and cam..what else we want. and SONY is BEST LOOKING phone..most lovely.
I will buy again XPERIA Z as my 3rd phone.

Got this phone. Thought it was a great phone although one of the main reasons I decided this over the samsung s4 was because it was waterproof. Turns out its not..even with the sockets closed. False advertising much.

Even I tried to get 4S but it was not available so I had to go to Samsung note2 and I'm happy with it. Almost every top end phones are gud, but we need the best. If possible wait for apple 5C otherwise consider note2 n xz. I've seen many happy happy customers of note2 than xz. Decision is ur's.

I gonna answer your question with 2 things:
1st: If you compare this 2, Apple definitely lose, Z is new generation while 4S is old generation. iPhone 4S camera is made by Sony while CPU Set is came from Samsung. If you update your iPhone 4S to iOS 7, it will lag because iOS7 is not suitable for old generation phone.
2nd: Drop these 2 phone into a the pool of water and you will the answer.

Apple iphone 4s is a kids toy like all their products. Interface is for kids.
Sony Xperia Z is one of the best smartphones in the world, and you can not compare with kids toy.

I own both xperia z and s4..performance wise s4..offcourse....better in everything...but looks wise xperia z...go for s4
