Best is what I consider best for me and my tastes not yours. Best is not based on performance data which no one notices in real time use. There are other considerations such as build quality, look and feel of the phone and personal tastes so stop trying to ram your opinion down other's throats and accept that their opinion of what is best does not align with yours! Not a difficult concept surely. I have the HTC One but it has its limitations as I have a load of films on my phone so my Xperia Z will be travelling with me this weekend. I love both and have a slight preference for the Xperia Z!

comfortable body size and rounded edges vs large size with sharp edges.
excellent camera vs xperia z camera that can't even match galaxy s3 camera.
excellent battery life vs average battery life plus unremovable battery
excellent loud speaker performance vs xperia z disastrous loud speaker performance
gs4 has infra red port (can be used as a remote controller vs no infra red port
now let us talk a bout the processor
xpera z uses snapdragon 4 pro(APQ8064) released 2012
gs4 I9505 uses Snapdragon 600 (APQ8064T) released 2013
xz cpu speed Up To 1.7 GHz Quad-core Krait
gs4 cpu speed Up To 1.9 GHz Quad-core Krait
xz memory technology 32-bit Dual-channel LPDDR2
gs4 memory technology 32-bit dual-channel LPDDR3(faster)
so it is very obvious that the s4 processor is the winner.
xperia z battery performance is bad without overclocking i wonder how it will last with overclocking 6 hours may be.
any way enjoy your both phones and i recommend adding htc one to your collection(by the way i am buying the htc one)

Snapdragon 600 is the latest and powerful processor from the Qualcomm, So Samsung galaxy s4 is the winner here for performance.

gsmarena forums was founded so people can get the advice regarding the best phone to buy,to discuss with each other the problems they are facing and how to use different softwares and firmwares to their phones.
unfortunately some people are giving biased informations regarding phones and they only visit the forums to promote ,as if they were payed by the manufacturer ,
some even try to hide the facts that gsmarena team confirmed in their reviews .
for an example gsmarena compared s4 ,the htc one and xperia z and concluded that htc one and the gs4 are better than the xperia z ,this fact is not accepted by promoters and they are trying hard to convince people that xz is better than gs4 and the htc one.

Unreal over satutared and fake colors. gives out the same quality as LCD and looks like an orange painted purple.
No Adobe Flash Support : Please update correct information before updating. All androids ave Flash support.
Bluetooth No EDR Support
Now this is definitely a plus for the phone, however this feature can also be added to a rooted xperia z. The EDR gives a short range wireless data transfer at a speed of upto 3 mbps. On an android the best part is you can use the wifi itself to do the same at 3 times faster speed.
No USB On-the-go, USB Host Support : Update your information source again, Xperia Z has USB host support
No Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording : Update your information again. This is a standard feature for the camera on xperia z
No barometer, temperature, humidity, gesture :
Barometer and temperature and humidity is not there, the internet and apps are available for this. Sony is smart not include such nonsense in a phone. These info, you can get through apps. For gesture, there are a lot of apps, however i would not recommend to have it. My s4 goes nuts while reading if i look to some thing next to me. It acts like an over possessive girlfriend
Non-removable Battery : This does not matter and is better as no one can fiddle with it and for a phone which is waterproof this is require...oh sorry your "S4" is not water proof...so you will not understand such technology...
6 hrs low talktime : Actually 9 hours talk time and S4 also has the same actually 9hrs and 45 minutes. You can have it to call some one and cry about you being from and pre dated era with digital clock...sorry an S4
I own an Xperia Z and an S4. My xperia z has a overclocked 200 meg to 1.9 gig clocked processor with an internal storage of 64 GB. the S4 i cannot overclock it as it already overclocked to the maximum and as stalk is a bit slower than the xperia and the apps respond a bit slow
