1. Dial *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Service tests
3. Display
4. Tap on screen and look for any dead-pixel
5. Ask for other unit if dead-pixel is present.
Also, you might want to ask them to update the smartphone to the latest firmware which is - 10.1.A.1.434 for safety.

If you want to update your software, you have to use PC Companion, connect your xperia z to your pc or laptop, then search the update...

Make sure to back-up your data first and please fully charge your Xperia Z before you proceed with the update. I live in PJ.

MAS-man, 26 Mar 2013lilyf, u must mention what is your most desired criteria up... moreI search for very good camera phone, average speaker,big storage for photo shot and video record, battery can hold 1 day single charging average use,i do lot of browsing (xperiaZ support youtube/flash ?), other good criteria is bonus to me.

Hello Guys, XZ is awesome and performance is so brilliant. Today I got new updates with new updated ver. whne I connected to PC companion. Battery performance is so better after updating. Loving and enjoying with Black hot XZ..

Its not as pocket-friendly as Xperia Z which I believe is better in terms of design, build quality and performance. I like Xperia Z UI more than the Note 2. The icons look more professional and premium looking than the cartoon-ish icons on the Note 2 UI. And its water & dust resistant too! Note 2 is not that bad. Battery life is better and the most important thing is the battery is removable. I can't bring my Note 2 everywhere I go since I'm a guy because (again) its too big to fit in my pocket. No bag or purse, its girly. XD
I'm very satisfied with my Xperia Z. I bought mine at RM2199 online and I got the speaker for free. I think this year, I'm gonna spend my money on Sony. Buy Xperia Z, its very recommended.

lilyf, u must mention what is your most desired criteria upon smartphones.. Are the screen resolution ? View angles ? Weight ? Size ? Speaker ? Camera ?

Okay, I just updated my friend's Z to the latest firmware (updated mine too) which I believe is 10.1.A.1.434. The sudden death issue have been fix with this update. Now no issue with my friend's Z and the battery life seems much longer. BTW, I'm from Malaysia.
