In a few months, quad core CPUs, the 2GB of Ram, water resistance, 5''full HD displays, 13 MP HDR cams, will become standard specs for all flagships.
Sony will have them delivered by the end of the month, so anyone looking to buy a phone now, that has any less specs than that, knows that his choice will soon become absolete, a compromise.
Whilst investing at Z, you know that for the next couple of years, there is nothing this phone wont handle and it wont be able to look outdated.
For ex, someone buying a S3 now, will regret it, as in a year by know everyone will have a 5incher, full HD, 13mp water resistant beast. Esp the variations of 1 GB may be disqualified for the next software updates for hardware inneficiences. The latest games will be optimized for the Adreno 320s, the Nexus 4, Z and a whole line of flagships will have.
This is the next step forward, thats why at the moment it is a bit overpriced, but you know that you will regret if you buy a lesser compromise.
This is a double advantage for Sony, now they will benefit from the high premium market, they will force the competition to make rush decisions and when they field the competitors, Sony will already be the most recognisable force in the next gen line and they could afford to lower the price in a very competitive and temtive mark, without offering a significantly lesser performer, as the next phones, will not go past the 5full HD inches, 2 GB RAM and 13mp cams.
A fancier number on the CPU frequency wont have such an impact on the performance, certainly wont be the leap forward than Z is to the S3 gen.
And the most amazing job Sony did was with the software. This was their weak point, but now, the battery, the display, the camera all benefit important performance boosts because of the software, adding to that the edge of tech in hardware and the promise that the new UI is very light and simple, so that it can be easily tweaked in order to facilitate quick OS upgrades and you have a receipe for success!
Sony took their time, but they finally delivered!!

Lumia 92... more146gmSXZ with 5inc screen and 136gm S3 with 4.7inc screen just a diffecrnce of 10 gm but there is a differnce of screen size plus SXZ have dragon tail on both sides so................its is a fact samsung use cheap plastic worst plastic.....its not the matter of light weight phones get out punk and NOKIA .............plz windows is old school

Guys dont believe what you hear..... sony is a good brand but it cannot operate iphone OS.... can it? that only Apple can do.... sony cannot look as good as a ferrari car.....but all in all....sony is such a user friend...... better than any of ur facebook phony freind............that it can put smile to all the android lovers.... so go and buy this phone..... this is what change ur life....u r and will win all the gaming battles....also this phone increase ur life time by 2 year.... today make a pledge to push samsung to bankruptcy...that illegal stealing brand ........ no good
