AnonD-63176, 15 Jan 2013 1. that's why it's water-resistant, just rinse it with ... moreThe curved front glass is a disadvantage, my Note 2 slides down on the floor if i put i face down on the sofa, the slight curve is enough to give it a VERY low friction. Its a problem because i always have to go back to the homescreen or turn off/lock the screen before putting my fone down, coz i dont want my wife reading when i am texting with my girlfriends, of course. If i could keep it face down then no problem, i ould simply lift it up and read the next incoming textmessage. My doctor is using iphone and he dont have a problem, the iphone will stay on any surface if face down while the Note 2 is slippery as an eel.

Gorilla aside, did Sony confirm this to be Dragon Trail glass? I think they rather deinied it, but if anyone can point me to a source that clearly states it is Dragon Trail?

If you feel other brands is perfect, pls go for it. this phone isn't perfect for you. but i don't understand why it still so attractive to others. all the weekness you listed isn't a big deal. people want a good design and so solid phone, not a plastic phone. I trust Sony is a quality product. Plastic phone always need a cover because when they drop is end of their life.

2. Im not sure about this, but still, SONY's display is undeniably good.
3. that's what u say. sony didnt specify the manufacturer of the glass, just stating it is durable as gorilla/dragontrail.
4. i thought that's part of the design? not everyone like curves.

Xperia Z supports microSD, up to 32 GB, as per gsmarena. but ZL supports 64 GB? Is there some mistake here? I thought even xperia Z supports 64 GB cards

no 2 you just follow the crowd.. bla3.. viewing angle without knowing what you are saying.
no 3 increase in hardness cause it more scratch resistance, but it also make it easier to crack. it is toughness that is important. you sure haven't learn Mechanics of Material in uni right? ;)
no 5 personal opinion.. boring..

And even if Samsung comes up with an OctaCore or 16cores the next time.. Im still not buying that cheap plastic crap.. Why?? Coz' I will bet my life that my Quadcore Desktop is way better than it.. So no thanks.. All this hype being twice the core from the last no. of cores they released the previous year is just but a marketing strategy.. Oh yeah Samsung is Smart.. But not on Innovation.. But on Marketing strategy and building Hype.. That's all there is to it.. Octa Core?!? If youre ignorant and know nothing about CPU and dont own your own quad core desktop or laptop then you wont even relate to this coz all ignorant people know is that "bigger is better!" - Try watching "Cloudy witha Chance of Meatballs" and youll see.. And to Samsung.. Please do some innovation and stop multiplying screen sizes and cores.. its not practical.. Maybe try putting a joystick back on your phones or maybe try making it waterproof as well (coz copying is what you're good at) or maybe try making your phones with a shape of a flower or butterfly.. Maybe then we can see an original.. :D

WTF?!? Samsung really going for OctaCore?!? I mean Seriously?!? An Apple Iphone 5 has a dual core.. Most high end Smartphone nowadays have Quadcore.. And just to say they are better they will release an Octacore phone?!? I have an $1100 worth of Desktop and I can play lots of heavy games like Crysis 1,2 at full specs. and many other games.. I dont think this Octacore can even play Rayman Origins for cryin' out loud.. Will we be able to play Diablo 3 in this phone with full settings and stuff?? Are you going to set up a server with this phone?? Come on.. This is just but a joke.. If Samsung does go for it though, that just means they cant think of anything to copy anymore.. Coz they're just making everything multiply itself to make it seem like an innovation.. What a Joke.. Samsung Fanboys will disagree though.. But give some time to think about it and you might realize how pathetic their products are.. Feel sad for the fanboys.. They will waste money again.. Oh well.. Haters gonna hate.. ^^.

Still nothing spectacular about this phone.
1. All glass body (like a brittle iPhone) It can catch smudges easily like the disgusting demo phone at CES last week. It really is so slimy I used a glove just to test it.
2. TFT screen. The worst LCD technology ever in history. Eats power twice as much as a SuperLCD2 and has Very bad viewing angles. Never change Sony...
3. Dragontrail glass isn't really strong (the drop test is a HOAX) Actually it is weaker than Gorilla glass,
Hardness test (Vickers) , Dragontrail: 595 to 673, Gorilla Glass: 622 to 701 source is Wikipedia. Also Gorilla Glass 3 is coming.
4. The screen has bad design. It's screen is FLAT like the LG unlike the screen design of GS3, NOTE2, HTCONEX, ONEX+, DNA that has curvy ergonomic screen glass that is pleasant to touch.
5. On screen home keys. ( bad idea )

Everybody please check out dragontrail glass xperia z used for its screen. way tougher than gorrila glass 2. help anyone please try to convince me not to buy this phone when it is out in the market

Its the hottest smartphone, no matter what phone u may compare it to, it wins. Second best looking smartphone is the iphone 4. U have to love sony!
