Z1 is the best phone but his sound quality is not better and one more thing his camera results when zoom the pictures the photos clear not looking

I am using z1 for nearly about 4 months it's a good phone overall but it lags behind in 3 -4 segments first the quality of the speakers is really bad it have very puny speakers 2nd it pauses mobile data when screen is locked as a result all the downloads and msgs are paused! The looks of the phone is really awesome and it's really fast the screen quality is also very good the most sadest part of the phone is the camera despite of 20 m.p the image quality really sucks!

The Z1 is an amazing phone but full of serious flaws the most prominent being the self cracking screen, it is the most fragile phone I have ever owned, after having it for 6 days the screen cracked whilst in my pocket and sony are charging me approx $300 aud to have it repaired although it is a known fault which also voids the water proofing. The software updated from jelly bean to kitt kat also has numerious negative effects which I admittedly never did because of other reviews on the software. I was a loyal sony consumer (having 3 sony phones previously) untill this one, I will not be buying another sony after this one

FADY, 06 May 2014Hi All, Please i need your advise. if i added all instal... moreIt doesn't do anything but pauses the receiving of mobile data when the screen is off. It saves a lot of battery life and won't negatively have an impact on apps unless you like receiving bbm msgs as they come in.

It's awesome, the viewing angles on the Z1 are bad but Sony has given the Compact an IPS panel so viewing angles are sorted. Battery will also last longer on Z1 Compact as its not full HD like the Z1 and it has a smaller screen but same proccessor as the Z1 so the Compact will be faster than the Z1 and the battery will last longer. Those who are moaning about battery life on the Z1 you are telling lies, the phone has Stamina mode which saves a whole 40+% of battery life. Samsung n Lg have their own problems.

Don't update through OTA. Display is great . More natural realistic colour instead of over saturated pictures like Samsung,LG,HTCetc. It had some viewing angle issues if you look it from more than 120 degree. But in KITKAT update problem almost resolved. Picture clarity got better. Even you can have option to balance the screen whiteness. Pictures are razor sharp. You can visit nearest mall for a review.

About camera Z1 compact same as good z1 ..
But why not you think about z2 ?? Batter than z1 or z1 compact in all SpecifiCations

I will go with htc or samsung who are making 1 flagship per year not 2-3 and they have better support than Sony. I am very disappointed with support for z1. I have realized that my 6 months phone is obsolete. Not ok for me as i can't afford to replace it every 6 months.

This phone is a DISASTER, NO value for money, wasted 40 grands on this stupid electronic device. SAMSUNG phones are so much BETTER. Buying Sony was a major BLUNDER, the word itself doesn't suffice. I am so disappointed with the usage. It hangs so much, touch screens doesn't function well, went to the store but didn't help much. Inshort, don't waste money on this trashy phone

Can u see wich software update it is? Is it the .681 or the .757? If it is .757 then it shud be fine.
Basic the problem with kitkat (latest version of android) is dat u have to do a fresh install.
1). Take a backup of all data in ur fone using sony pc companion software,
2). Install the new software,
3). Again restore the data using sony pc companion software.
We all Z1 users have done the same. Then, Z1 works fine & will be back to being the best fone dere is.!!
