In my case when I jumped from Jelly Bean to Lollipop my battery life fell down to half and yes the phone heated quickly than usually it did in Jelly Bean. Because of all this headache I downgraded my phone back to Jelly Bean. I would advice you to do the same or if possible wait for next update and see if the problem is solved. If even after update you are going through same problem then just downgrade to previous settings.

I've had the Z1 since it came out in 2013 and the handset has been performing great. Very happy. I don't game, but use it for work. Mainly forms of messaging and camera.
However the last month (Sept 2015) the handset has been misbehaving, heating up incredibly hot for no reason and the basic functionalities such as SMS messaging or Contacts, or Last Caller, has been freezing, or running ridiculously slow.
I've done the usual of restart, checking all app usage. Its been very very annoying and become disappointing.
My usage habits haven't changed. I wonder if its to do with the new update of operating system.

Today I have check it out at another Sony Phone. Alright it is my bad luck but still the phone is cool.. Thank you Vineet.

If you are talking about this setting then I wouldn't recommend it because auto flash is way brighter than torch. But I cannot say for sure because I don't have flashlight setting just now.I will inform within the next week.

Today I've captured few pics with my Xperia z1 and those are wonderful, Vineet as you have the same phone so could you provide me few info about your one.. when you go to the camera you'll see few flash mode 1/Auto 2/Fill flash 3/ Red-eye 4/ Off and 5/ Flashlight. You know 1/ Auto 2/ Fill flash and 3/ Red-eye mode doesn't work for me but the 4/ Off and 5/ Flashlight are perfectly functional . so could you tell me please what the deference you face between 1/ Auto and 5/ Flashlight. then I'll think over it should i use this camera or don't. The thing is it depends on quality of tempered glass for example if we apply a cheap quality tempered glass which dose not form air bubbles but forms a little gap in between. Then the water will only get in between the gap and loosen the tempered glass a bit which will never cause any damage to your phone.

I liked your opinion thanks, and yes it is flash problem only in kitkat 4.4 and i agree with you the camera is great until i got dark area even in low light. Vineet you know nowadays people use smart phone with a high quality camera only because they wont keep a Digital or HDR camera and people try captured every moment in a camera. however I've read your another post as you said the z series is loss project for Sony so I'm sorry for Sony, and I hope in future they will come up with a best smart phone in low cost. sure I'll be with Sony. The problems with Z series is that it took SONY to next level in name and fame but it also got SONY XPERIA into economical loss. As this is XPERIA Z1's post line lets take it as example. The XPERIA Z1 costed INR48,000($735) now it is INR18,000($275) but according to SONY only the front and back glass cost INR15,000($230) each which in total costs INR30,000($460) and just imagine how much other hardware components cost. First I thought the quality will fall but SONY did a foolish mistake and promised never to bring down their quality with the price. And that's where they went into loss. The should have simply discontinued the old models.

Yes you got it... moreAnonto I understand, I had the similar problem with my XPERIA Z1 the problem was with camera instead of flash. The primary camera was blurry and when captured pics they were pixalated I noticed it in a week I bought and went to SONY Service Center. They completely replaced my phone and accessories. But sadly you don't have that chance. But seriously if only flash is the problem then as said in my before reply enjoy all other features that the phone offers you. And flash is not necessary if you have sufficient light around you. :D:)

To be honest I am using the phone since 2 years and didn't even use the flash for 10 times. The camera gets awesome pics without flash. The only problem you will get is in low light areas. Some times I feel when there is good enough light using flash decreases the quality of pic than directly captured one without using flash. So flash should not be a big problem.

Thanks for your kind advice i appreciate it. Yes you got it, it's timing delay problem. I forgot to mention that during using the lollipop 5.1 the flash just stop working. However i don't think it is a minor nor little wiring problem. The phone i got from my bro who's bring it from Singapore for me so i don't have warranty card. In order if i take it to Sony center definitely they will charge me at least 4000 BDT or 50 USD, and after repairing the phone the water proof feature may ain't remain, I won't spent at all money for it.. The camera is big deal for me.. If isn't software problem and I'm unable to solve it by myself, I will buy a new phone which has great camera of quality. And it was bad experience with Sony, sorry! I may never back to Sony again..

I maxed out my XPERIA Z1's internal memory(no usage of external) with heavy games like Injustice Gods Among Us, Iron Man 3, Batman Dark Knight, NFS MostWanted and many more. My phone never stuck while playing games. Now it is 2yrs old phone and it never gave any problem. Yes it gets overheated because it is a water and dust proof compact phone which is air tight. But the over heating never causes technical problem. And this phone backs-up awesome battery power. Which lasts nearly a whole day for gamers like us. Read below for review on battery life

I purchased XPERIA Z1 two years ago used it like crazy. Pushed it to its limits. Maxed its memory out with large games like Injustice, NFS Most Wanted and a lot not used external memory card. Played games nearly whole day in my holidays. I am telling you guys all this crap because after going through all this my phone never hanged even once till date. And its battery never ran out when needed the most. I even ran my whole day with just 13% battery in stamina mode still having 4% to spare after using whatsapp and chrome alternatively for 8hrs. If we use for general surfing, texting, voice calls and checking emails it will last for one and a half to two days. For game lovers like me it lasts at least for one whole day.

Is it k to buy this one or do u have any suggetion for me about zperia z1 or about anyonther.
