Was JUST about to order this, and thought I'd check the GSMArena fact sheet first. Then I read "non-removable battery". Order cancelled, this phone is dead to me.

hi friends i know that the phone has 720p resolution but i want to know the phone is capable of playing 1080p videos without any issues?

Tested this phone today and its great, loved the display and all but bought a blackberry Z10 instead and no regrets, bye bye crap Google, android is good but we don't need Google advertising and sht.

The option to mass produce the same phone with same components but upgradable if the end user decides they need more. The reality is there are more than enough people that don't need bigger capacity; for those who do, they can simply buy an upgrade at their own discretion.

these were been considerable a satisfying comparing to any rivalries of compact or mini series
and it is considerable a good run for a Sony.
but in my own opinion, they need to upgrade a twice memory capacity in order to store up more and more possible storage as enough to been called satisfying results w/o almost replacing micro SDHC.
so out of the blue, i've satisfied their brilliant features and i wonder to the next xperia z2 compact :-)

After 2 weeks I can say that this phone has probably the best hardware potentials of all the phones on market. It is an awesome device, but the SW has many flaws. SONY, wake up, it's one of your flagships! What about some customer care?! The phone runs fast, but it needs a regular restart at least twice a day, otherwise it get very laggy (fast reboot app is usually enough), which is quite unusual for a flagship (comparing to S4). HW-wise it should be faster than the Z1, but I'd say Z1 is better optimized. The camera is a disappontment - advertised with huge ensor, great optics and resolution, but there is much noise and it lacks many functions (using 20MP only in manual mode, without HDR...). To get a 20MP picture it usually takes around one minute to setup the camera otherwise its better to shoot with the super auto mode, but thats also not really breathtaking (blurry, noisy).
The screen sometimes needs 8-10 seconds to wake up after pressing the power button - that's some kind of a bug Sony is ignoring.
The proximity sensor has 3 second delays when taking the phone off your ear, before the displey lights up. This is solved in the 4.4 KK update, but...
The 4.4 KK update brings so many bugs:
-mixup of the speakers - sometimes they don't launch at all, or the tingtone of incoming call/message plays in the earpiece speaker used for calls (not the main speaker)
-extreme battery drain (probably realted to the heating problem) - battery last not even a day instead of usual 2-3 days while the phone feels like on fire
-probably a reduced camera noise, but flash bleeding is horrible (while shooting distant objects and flash goes automatically off, no problem with close objects)
-the phone feels slower, it freezes once in a while, whch is completely unacceptable due to the SD800, 2GB RAM etc..
-GPS disconnects periodically once every 4-5 minutes and spends tens of seconds to reconnect
-the quick settings in the notification bar stopped being quickly accessible, takes more clicks now
-the option"reject a call with a SMS" opens a menu instead of quickly sending an SMS as it used to be
..and many more things relating to kitkat.
Sony really screwed this update up, they prepared it for months and they release such a buggy version. I really like Xperia phones, they feel premium, but I'm truly disapponted with the insides of my new Z1C and the attitude of Sony, not even putting an effort into respond on official forums. Also, I was realy disapponted to see how secretly Sony changed the description of the "Not-anymore-glass-rearside" of Z1C.

It is really one of the best phones at present.
upgraded to 4.4.2 a few hours ago..
1.Disappointed to see the flash bleed [yes, its still there]
2.The battery is discharging tooooo fast[hope it'll improve after few days]
3.Bringing the quick setting with 2 fingers is impossible with one hand operation[and its annoying too]
4.The phone already hanged once[while saving a photo]
5.After taking some photos, there were some dead pixel[on the upper left corner of the screen] and the screen was split into two vertical parts [5% of the right side of the screen was showing in the left side of the phone].....and it was fixed after rebooting the device.
I didn't find any speaker problem or others after upgrading and there's still no word from SONY about fixing those bugs.
Hoping to hear some official response from SONY [after all it is one of their flagship phones, isn't it]

For people that find it the Sony expensive I can recommend Motorola Razr i, at less than half price you get a better phone in all ways. Trust me.
