I have rea... moreIts highly unlikely to be software. My homebrewed theory after studying the cam setup of Xperia Z and closeup photos of the Z1/Z1C camera is that it is the shatterproof sheet (SPS) on the back that transmits this light, and not the glass. The SPS has a hole cut out for the camera but part of the light from the LED trapped inside the SPS will refract and beam out on the sides when it reaches the lens cutout hole.
Think about it, the back glass is not high enough to shine light on the lens, but the SPS is (its considerably thicker than a regular protector). Therefor i believe the problem can be fixed with a scalpel, cot out some of the SPS and remove it, thats all.
To be on the safe side one should opt for the black model as it seems the problem is mainly affecting the lighter colors.

I have read somewhere it is form software not hardware.
When taking photo with phone using factory setting there is no problem with flash. when install some apps
then problem appears. Now any body can confirm this?

To other people ho just whant to know -
I turned on my phone on 8.00 and was using him till 20,30 and without any recharge same for other day. With buttery saver and 50% of brightnes . If you whant great buttery live , the first 3/5 days you have pushing buttery till phone stoping self and 4/7 hours.
Yesterday I got z1c for my parter in Dubay ( in black don't buy , it's not sow exclusive ) and from the boxe 30% I make all seting and it's stopes after 5 hours.
What is extremely strange - camera in all condition is 100% perfect ( dark , light and even completely night ) . I thing Sony have to fix it thru update .

Its already explained in earlier posts, battery manufacturers do a tradeoff, they sacrifice battery lifespan for a higher capacity. The lower charge the longer lifespan, in electric cars the batteries can often take 3 to 5000 recharge cycles before they degrade to 80%, because they are not over charging them .
Also in laptops we see that some manufacturers let us choose between max capacity and max lifespan, in max lifespan mode it simply charges the battery less and doesnt allow it to drain as low.
Its just a matter of time before smartphone manufacturers also will offer an option to never charge the battery to its max capacity, its really bad for Li-Ion batteries to be fully charged and fully discharged.

It is better than lumina, in low light performances
In contrast, reality, smoothness and clarity* z1 compact is flawless!
Moreover, camera apps such as info eye and social life are excellent , and time shift burst can give your every moment and superior auto is amazing for all***It's fancied design, amazing camera and wonderful multitasking and latest chipset are proofs that it is better than note 3:s4:and iPhone 5s***

If you get a "halo" on your picture the same color as the phone then the flash is bleeding through the glass to the lens.

I have had several phones which had phenomenal battery life. If for example the screen brightness is turned down and you are near a mobile antenna so the phone is using less signal then you will get much better results. Also, some batteries are just better from the factory.

Some pictures in low light is reasonable and in similar condition other is strange and low quality. If this that call flash problem ? Any way it's not camera for evening events and clubs .
If you looking for good camera is Lumia 1020 but is WM , still missing a lot of apps .
One more time - in day normal condition is very good pictures and a lot of niece option

Mir, 08 Feb 2014Hi Mr.45 What is buttery ..? Buttery is excellent 2 days and remain 10% with normal to heavy use ( wifi all the time , surf 2/3 hours , music 2 hours and a lot of calls and a lot of photos )

It is always ok to fully charge your battery. Nothing happens if you fully charge your battery. Your phone will stop charging battery when it is full and you will get the noification too. and most of the cellphone chargers nowadays are equiped with smart ic's so it stop charging when battery is full.

I did these steps when I ... moreThose who have an accurate multimeter can also check the voltage of some batteries of some old fashion phone with removable battery. In general the nominal voltage is 3.7v, and its recommended to not discharge it below 3v and not above 4.2v, thats the voltage range where they measure a batteries max capacity. The more above 3v and the more below 4.2v you keep your battery the longer life span it will have.
(note, this varies slightly depending on what type of lithium source is used inside the battery and also with how old phone the battery came from, many manufacturers are using lower and higher voltages nowadays to squeeze out more capacity from a smaller battery without telling us that it lowers the batterys expected lifespan and that it increases the risk for fire and/or explosion. Dont need to be a genius to see that Apple very well could have done just this, iphone 5 being so much lighter than 4S and still had bigger battery and all of a sudden one started to hear about fires caused by iphones, why didnt older iphones before iphone 5 cause fires??)

Why don't they make a home button under the screen? This way the home button takes a part of an already small screen.

This is 1 of the best mid size phones..ths phne is actually beta thn the s4 mini,htc one mini nd droid mini..4 pipo tht luv powerful mid size phones..thn the zi compact is 4 u..dnt hve 2 go 4 iphones anymre.
