sup, 18 Apr 2014for all those who have upgraded to kit kat has the battery... morerest assure that z1c is the most powerful handset with tremendous battery life at the moment. one single charge can last you a day n half for average usage. no exaggeration here. u can asked around...especially even with data plan or wifi is on.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2014This size is hardly a compact. Its bigger and heavier than ... moreIts not much longer than iPhone and the iphone cannot go out alone, it need to be accompanied by at least a charger, preferably a power bank, that kinda kills your weight argument.
Im having hopes for the iPhone 6, if they improve the battery (doubtful they do, likely they will just use the larger size to make it slimmer and leave us with the requirement of 2-3x charges a day). One girl i know with iphone 5 always bring her charger and a small power bank, but it isnt always easy to find an outlet and the power bank isnt enough, so she have to bring a Nokia feature phone in addition, that again requires an extra (prepaid/pay as you go) sim card. What a mess, whats the point of having a 7.6mm thick phone that is long as a banana when it cant last even an evening out at party? Thats where Z1 Compact comes in, its Android but at least it is a standalone device. My BB Z10 doesnt have great battery also, its only 1800mah, not much bigger than iphone 5s battery but better battery life (for my usage).
One other thing i want from the next iphone, if it is to be able to convince me to switch from BlackBerry 10 OS, is that it cannot be that long compared to the display size, the top and bottom bezels have to give in, as it is now iPhones are ridiculously long for their tiny display. Oh and i also hope the slow animations in iOS7 soon will be a thing of the past, it feels annoyingly inefficient. If both Apple and Blackberry fails to make a fairly compact high end device with ok battery life i may go back to Android when Xperia Z2 Compact comes around.

This size is hardly a compact. Its bigger and heavier than the current iPhone. I was looking forward to this phone, but disappointed with its large size. Apart from that, it looks good. I really wish Sony would bring out a Xperia S1 "mini" that was truly small. Just look at a 2011 Xperia Ray.

Does Z1 compact has dual internal speakers? When i cover the right half of the speaker sound doesn't come out, sound comes from only left half of the speaker. Anyone having this problem?

I change my mind and bought one Z1C. Played it for 3 days and its a charm. Its a huge upgrade from me old Xperia Acro S.
Advantages that I like over Acro S:
1-Better and superb specs(no lag playing GOF2)
2-Camera such as night capture, timeshift burst, 15 MP 16:9 ratio,
powerful LED(No bleed issue yet)
3-Superb build quality(and it also lighter)
4-Triluminos screen make colour saturated more
5-Slimmer
6-Tougher flaps
7-Softer dedicated camera cus Acro S button needs 4 man power to
fully press it down
8-Unbelievable battery life. Example playing GOF2 in Acro S took 30%
each 1 hour while Z1C just 19%.
9- 4.4.2 Kitkat boast a lot of junk pre-installed apps
10-Speaker placement. Speaker only take the left part of the
giant grill.
11-Cold body. I mean it never heat up so hot until it slows down
12-Design although it pretty hard to hold it
13-Faster charge up
14-Longer WIFI range and LTE network
Disadvantages that cannot beat me old 1 1/2 year Acro S:
1-Expensive accessory
2-On screen button
3-Buggy Kitkat
4-Speaker are vibrating the whole phone even set it lower than half of it
volume
5-Screen are still too bright in the lowest brightness
6-Non back curved back body shape
7-Cannot run old android apps such as ES file v1.5.7
8-Fingerprint magnet
9-Slightly bad sound recorded in video capturing
10-No mini HDMI port
Thats all what I like about Z1C of mine used for 3 days. Now I rename my Xperia Z1 Compact to Xperia Acro Z. Yeaaahhh

Bought my Z1 Compact in Kuala Lumpur. Upgraded to Kit Kat. Superb phone. Battery life is incredible. Camera is lovely. Build quality is premium grade. Operation is smooth and fast. Size is perfect. Use it extensively for business and work. Large phones are not for me. A flaw is the glass which is easily scratched. So I use the ubiquitous phone cover. Another is that I can't edit and save documents archived in Micro SD. Could be Docs to Go issue rather than the phone but recall reading that Kit Kat affects storage of documents in external storage. Pics and media unaffected. Need to confirm on that. But otherwise no regrets. I wouldn't recommend another phone. I've used many before this.

I have exactly 24 hrs of use with this new device on kitkat. I had a 5s before this phone. Now on the xpwria c - good battery life with moderate use I got 24 hrs and I worked it. The screen is good not as good as apple 5s but solid. The width and typing experience is far better on this device as its wider and to be honest a perfect size for me. Very fast processor and I haven't seen much lag if any but I don't fill my phone with crap that would only serve to slow it down. Fluid and smooth from what I can tell. Camera is not as good on auto mode as compared to 5s esp in low light BUT in manual mode you can't touch this phone- it kills the 5s ! The big disappointment on this phone for me iavthe speaker. Far too low for a ringer - faint almost and I hope that Sony can fix this through a software update? Something tells me it's not gonna happen. Calls are clear and not a problem. Its mainly the volume is just too low. If they can fix this issue then I can honestly say its a solid all around phone. Sony could have done a better job. Hence I would rate the phone a solid 8 /10 and with good volume its easily one of the best phones I have ever owned. Love em or hate em and I am no fan of apple- they make their products with an acceptably consistent quality level that makes the experience with their phones consistent. Sony has come along way and the phone is solid except for the darn volume.

hope that the size of xz2c is 4.5-4.8 which is perfect for handling, has ips display, 300 up ppi, fast capture camera, not narrowed physical buttons, decent sound quality and lastly has a great batery life like the xz1c
