Hi, I've using Z3C for about 2 months, My units is so-so, yes it is waterproof, but it has pink spot and the magnetic charging port are pulled off in just 1 month of use, so i take it to service center to reglue, YES reglue only. They said that my phone may not waterproof anymore.
So be careful you guys with your magnetic charger, better stick with usb one, if your flap is loose, you could replace it in service center for just IDR 30.000 (3 $) rather than your port pulled off.
Anyway Z3C has the best battery life, yeah it is 2 days battery if you use wi-fi and in sub tropical/ arctic country. mostly sony device drain battery faster in hot climate. Mine usually last foar a 24 hours.

i`ve been using this phone for 3 months, got no problem at all, super fast, superb battery life and great camera.
dropped the phone twice, no sign of scratches and cracks.
for me, this is the best smartphone within its own "mini" category.

This phone is not water proof as Sony claims it to be. on 25 Dec 2014 I was taking some photos in a pool and it fell in at a shallow area about 0.6m deep, all of a sudden, it was vibrating and screen went dark, few minutes it was off. till today. its only about 20 days old.

Bought phone 2 days ago and i love it, its a beast. A good substitute for my old n9.

BUT NO!
it has no scratches nor cracks! this phone is resilient! it can take a few punches in the face!
i guess there is a lot of APPLE fans here bashing Sony!
Sony marketing is weak because RIGHT now the Xperia Z3 Compact is the BEST android IN THE WORLD in the sub 5 inches category! PERIOD!
those around here claiming magical cracks appearing from nowhere are just haters and probably people paid by the competition to bash sony and Sony Products!

i heard dat z1c display & body are superior & cracking issue of z3c
there's not much difference between them and the price is hiked too

I think its specifications are excellent and also it is very easy to handle in one hand. My first criteria for a smartphone is that its screen must be smaller than 5 inches. Z3c is both excelent in size and specs.

If you want more affordable, go for Z1 Compact.
Both are the most powerfull "normal size" android smartphone.

The rear glass cracking i heard many is outside of Asia.
In Asia were less problem on its.
My Z3c can hold a short drop(30~50cm) without any scratch or cracking.

My brand new Z3 compact all of a sudden went dead and did not power up. This happened within 2months of purchase. The phone is now in repair shop and apparently a part would be replaced.

Having no problems with the back glass and using this phone from a month now. I'm not using any screen guard or a bumper on the phone - just a leather pouch which covers it from all sides and gives almost complete protection when not in use, since what I personally believe is that if you pay premium for a device there's no point in covering the device with bumpers/cases with proprietary logos on them (looks so cheap and defeats the original purpose of buying premium) when in use. The scratch/glass guard decreases the screen sensitivity then while also making the scratches too prominent on the guard, not to mention it looks so dirty over time and needs to be replaced.
I am a big fan of one handed of operation of this device and writing this on the z3c itself. The bottom line is just give a due care to your device and nothing bad will happen to your device, ever. I own the galaxy s4, galaxy note 2, Lumia 1520, Lumia 920, surface rt, kindle paperwhite, & galaxy tab 10.1 and they all are in percect condition just as when were new. Earlier I had lumia 800 (my wife managed to break the display somehow), galaxy note 1, & galaxy spica and same was true about them too.

My Z3 Compact died suddenly within two weeks of use. It will not turn on or show any sign of life. Took it to the service center but no luck. Last Sony phone I am buying. It is a crap and waste of money!
