Are the rumors about the easily cracked screen and glass back actually true? How long will the battery last without having it changed? Plan to keep a phone for 3years or more. Would appreciate advice from people who actually own a sony z3 compact D5803. Thanks

Thinking of buying this phone but im worried about the glass cracking, some people are saying it cracks for no reason so im wondering if a screen protector would even work. Also the non removable battery. Is there a hard reset button or combination if the phone freezes? Would really appreciate some advice. Thanks

Lots of great features but shame the phone as god awful. What's the use in having a great phone with a screen that cracks within 3 days.... Menus are a minefield to navigate. Loce the battery life, hate the rest.

                  so here it goes again
1."LOL, you are seriously taking SHEM's video as your proof that battery life is not truly improved???"...no i'm not taking SHEM's video seriously but still he is right to my opinion...
2."Please go and see professional reviews and actual test performed on both devices"...hah i don't need to bcs i already used two of them and i know what i'm saying
3."GSMArena have an Endurance rating of 101hr vs 65hr"...that is standby time not On Screen Time, which i checked myself by running battery test with my friend's z3c
and surprisingly z1c survived around 10 min more...
4."Again, most people will NOT root"... u can't be too sure, rooting is easy now a days
5."I don't get the "joke"... My phone charges pretty fast"...did i say z3 or z3c didn't charge fast, all i said is that quick charge 2.0 is available on other devices too and also it's an integreated feature from S800(check qualcomm website)

it may looks stupid discussion to u but fun for me
again as i said before the difference in specification not worth that much bucks
my friend is using z3c for more than 3 months now and we exchanged our phone for few weeks..
and yeah both devices are great no doubt..
end of discussion for me but u can go on

Please go and see professional reviews and actual test performed on both devices... the Z3C is a lot better than the Z1C on battery life. Even here on GSMArena have an Endurance rating of 101hr vs 65hr.
SHEM only did a 30 minute test on a device that was probably brand new and not even calibrated by some battery cycles, he then extrapolated the results to ASSUME what would be the battery life...

You really got me thinking that you knew about your stuff, anyway I still stand behind my post. Both devices are really good, and each of us are entitled to our own opinions, but facts are FACTS.

                      1. The battery is vastly improved that is a FACT.
                      2. The slightly less ppi will not be noticeable under normal conditions, unless you look at it extremely close and next to each other.
                      3. Again, most people will NOT root...
                      4. I don't get the "joke"... My phone charges pretty fast.

This is a really stupid discussion, I explained in my first post my opinion and if the person looking for one of these devices, finds its features useful, then just get it, if not get the older one... I even stated that I am going to get the Z1c for my wife... But for me the difference are worth it...

What is really sad is that you think you are right over my Opinion... And I've used both devices... At the end he/she can't go wrong with either... both devices are great IMO

The thing is that those 300 mAh coupled with the new display, gives the Z3 Compact around 40% more battery life than what the Z1 Compact had (and the Z1c wan't bad to begin with) that alone is worth it for me... I get over 6 hours of screen-on-time consistently, heavily used during the day.

The screen size increase is a big plus for me, coming from an Acro S which had 4.3" screen but capacitive buttons on the outside, so having a 4.3" with on-screen buttons felt like a downgrade, and the plastic on the Z3c is really solid, and most likely will absorb impacts better than metal (no scuffing)... also the curved design of the Z3 Compact will feel a lot better in the hand... I have a Ringke Fusion Case (which was also improved for the Z3c) and sometimes I take it off just to feel my device confortably while using it.

I was advicing about current official features, I really don't know if 4K or other features are available through XDA, cause most people will not even unlock the bootloader and risk degrading the camera... And btw I absolutely LOVE the camera features of the Z3 Comapact, not everyone will appreciate them as much though. The High Sensitivity ISO always impresses people with other phones (including iPhone 6 and Galaxy S5 users).

Quick charge 2.0 is only available on the Z3 and Z3 compact, look it up, not even the Z2 can take advantage of that feature.... however is not something a use. The standard 1.5 Amp charger that came with my phone is good enough.

Like I said, it really comes down to your personal preferences and your usage, I consider myself a power user and I take advantage of every little feature I discover on my device, so the price difference is totally worth it, but most people will be happy getting a device just to play Candy Crush and send Snapchats... not me.
