I'm from malaysia and I've been using this phone for about a mth now. Dropped it from my car hood and not even a scratch. I was amazed by the display quality and pictures taken. To be honest, i've been rough with my phones especially bringing for fishing and sports. it stays in my pocket. can easily rinse off any access dirt and mud. Trust me, if you want a durable phone, get this model. You wont regret it.

Like I wrote in a previous review, I didn't had any issue with the screen. I made it fall twice (not on purpose...), with a silicon case bought on Amazon. The phone in the case is not really sexy but at least I'm not really afraid of droping it now. Just be careful.
I don't think the temperature difference is a serious thing to break the phone. I live in Canada (Montreal), going outside with the phone in my outside pocket and bicking even when -20°C. Never had any issue.
The battery is just ridiculous. With a low usage it last 5 days with the latest Sony update. I usualy get a

After a big review online I finally decided to buy Xperia Z3 Compact and after using for 3 days I had return back as the phone was terribly over heating. I even did not insert a sim into it and was just making some Bluetooth transfer and reading news online but it was like having a hot tea cup in my palms. I did not expect so poor performance of Xperia Z3 Compact. Now I am waiting to buy a new phone. Has anyone faced similar problems.?

My bro using z3, 3 times his mobile was fall down from nearly 5 feet above on tar road.. Nothing happend for it. Even a scratch and he dont use screen guard pouch also.... Really z3 is a king of this ring....and now i bought z3c
Amaging... Money having worth these days with sony...lollipop will be late i think....thanku sony

I don't know why everyone is going on about this glass cracking thing, seriously. Its like dropping an iphone 6, if you drop it the phone might break apart and screen might shatter and if some people drop it the phone doesn't break at all. Same thing with the Z3, if you drop it the glass can break and screen can also shatter but many z3 users drop their phone and it doesn't break at all. Self cracking back glass panels I do believe only happen on the color versions of the phone (I've searched for cracked white z3c and found nothing), not white and black so I thing its something to do with the colours that Sony added or something. A friend of mine dropped her s4 mini and the screen shattered. The main message is if you drop phones don't expect them to still work or still be in great condition.

You are totally uninformed on the topic yet are still trying to sound smart and argue. That's some audacity assuming every Z series owner who has corroborated and said their screen/back cracked without force is a liar. But please continue, Mr Scientist and tell everyone how glass behaves theoretically without looking at real life evidence. Why not get the mythbusters to help you debunk this one? ;)

Best mobile with best battery and great camera.... Blindly go for it....great colors....main thing is music in earphones.... Great mobile.....in all spects no comparison in market...and single hand use....loved this badly...

When I checked phones, I checked many models, but they always missed something, somewhere screen is crap, somewhere battery for one day, somewhere it feels crappy.
Why I picked Sony Z3 Compact? Mainly, battery, secondly it's specs and size, it's so small!
Also, a lot of thing about phone, can be found on forums, especially xda forum, used for tweaking mine phone :)

Glass doesn't just break on its own and the temperature differential from it heating up isn't enough to break it. More often than not, people claiming phones breaking for no reasons are full of it.. Either they've dropped it harder than they admit or do stupid things like keep the phone in their back pocket.

If you are looking for a midrange phone, this is not it. The Z3 Compact is a full blown high end device on a small size. It is definitely a BEAST of a phone, and if you need something cheaper but still great performance in a small size check the Z1 Compact out...
I have been taking a lot of care of mine and hopefully it doesn't suffer the fate of cracking glass that people complain about. I did put it in a soft case and use it with a Wrist Strap to prevent falls.
So far I can totally recommend this phone. But the design is a bit delicate.

If you turn it on as flashlight or assistant light for video, it will be dim... but for pictures is actually quite potent... Actually using Superior Auto on a night club recently, the flash blew out many of my pictures, I had to change to Manual and EV to -1,3 to get normal pics

I have been looking through the reviews of z3 compact for couple of weeks and got to know that people are having more or less good experience with it. I am looking for a good mid range smart phone and think that this will be the best option. I like the lime colour of z3 compact. I'd like to seek advise from people here who owns z3 compact and would like to recommend it for me. Thanks in advance.
