S4's 5 inch screen is really easy to use and doesnt feel like you're raping your pockets when you try to stuff it in your pocket!

TheNeighbor, 27 Jun 2013So, to you the small battery isn't an issue? We have seen h... moreI can understand the issue with the battery, but isn't this the problem with all manufacturers and high end handsets. I have the LG 4x HD and the nokia n900 and both have the same problem of having to recharge every 7 or 8 hours, it's not what you call mobile but manufacturers just don't and won't listen. With regards to the pencil as a stylus, we'll wait and see, although to me the stylus isn't a big factor in me purchasing this, I can understand some people making a decision based solely on this function but I don't think we can make a decision so early on, maybe it will eventually come good.

Yes, I would have also preferred a removal battery but I suppose we can't have everything, maybe by 2015 or 2016 we will finally come across our dream phone but for now I am certainly excited by this Sony Ultra.

AnonD-90736, 27 Jun 2013People still complaining about small detail, can't believe ... moreSo, to you the small battery isn't an issue? We have seen how Sony does battery stamina on the previous models, like the Xperia Z getting only 4 hours of screen on usage time average. The insane large screen will drain much, along with the recommended new smartwatch and wireless earpiece both connected via bluetooth. What more with the 2.2 ghz quad-core processor. Terrible battery standby. Think about it. It doesn't even have a removable battery to be replaced. Sony did this to get away with the 6.5m thickness with the wide top and bottom bezel to accommodate some of its components.

I have seen the pencil drawing demonstration on this, and failed to impress with not so continuous line input. It doesn't register pressure input like a Wacom digitizer with a 1024 level sensitivity for variation of line thicknesses for drawing. It looks like this is for the ordinary masses, who'd like to just impress, with little or short productive usage time per charge.

The looks of this nice minimalist design is overshadowed with the lack of basic sense of providing a decent sized battery.

By the way the snapdragon 800 chip on the sony ultra completely destroys the samsung octa core chip in all benchmarks, so why people would want an S4 over this Sony Ultra bemuses me. Plus there is no difference at all between 8 and 13mp cameras, everyone seems to think that more megapixels means better camera, but that's far from the truth, but it seems that people just want to look at numbers. 8mp is more than fine for any smartphone.

People still complaining about small detail, can't believe it, it's such a brilliant phone that Sony have made, it's so obvious they have put so much time and effort into making it. I would be shocked if this didn't end up as the most sold phone in 2013, it has a premium feel to it, wonderful display technology and so well designed and a monstrous s800 chip at 2.2ghz. The Exmor RS will ensure that a flash will not be needed, the s800 chip will ensure that this phone will be power efficient. Unless Asus or HTC do something extroadinary with their phablets, this will certainly be my phone of choice.

I have been reading articles and been checking a lot of phones and gadgets this year, all I can say is, they are all innovative in their own ways. Sure we can criticize samsung for making plastic like design on their smartphones, or hate sony for its poor viewing angles on its xperia z, and maybe disregard htc for not having an external battery and memory card, but hey, these phones have different market segment. Honestly, does an ordinary buyer of phones will actually recognize a poor viewing angle of xperia z?? No, heck they don't even no what resolution an xperia z has, the thing is, they only know how innovative the company was. With sony's water resistant phone, coupled by its glass like, sleek design is already an advantage to other smartphones out there. Only heavy readers like us will actually get to see how these mobile wars works, but to me, aside from haters and scrutinizers, each handsets are unique on their own.
