krissy, 05 Jun 2022the 120W charging explained = the battery has 5Ah, the volt... moreDear Sir,
I appreciate the arithmetic put up by you for explaining the charging with a 120W charger. This is great and fully understood.
The point here is different. The charging scale is not representative. Charging also continues after showing 100% and 20% charging when the minimum charge is left. So there is a problem with the calibration.
Does anybody know any other application available which can help with proper calibration?

In either situation I will help you.
Both have good battery life but the iPhone Pro max has the edge not the Pro only.
NO ONE thinks about battery life between a crApple pro iphone and a chinese not even flagship model phone.
You are asking a very wrong question here, unless you need something else besides battery life like camera, speakers etc then stick with whatever phone you already own buddy because anything else will be a waste of you rmoney.

I must decide between iPhone 13 pro and this phone! Which has the best battery life? Anyone that has both phones??

Phil, 04 Jun 2022Man you either either know fcuk all about phones or you jus... moreWell no not the S8 really.
It is on par with S20 (not ultra) and quite underrated because people have way too high of expectations for something so good at its price.

Atul, 04 Jun 2022Exactly. They have purposely wrongly calibrated the chargin... moreI can confirm but it feels more like 120% not 140%
Around 20% it will drain fast because it is actually around 14%.
People even made tests to further prove this online.
Still, 20-25 mins for real full charge is quite a good deal. The battery life is not as bad as people say either but surely not the best.

This is still a powerhouse phone! More people need to appreciate what Xiaomi is doing for all the smartphone enjoyers!! ^_^

Atul, 04 Jun 2022Exactly. They have purposely wrongly calibrated the chargin... morethe 120W charging explained = the battery has 5Ah, the voltage of the battery is 3,7V , but the actual voltage the and technology is different then from charging a car battery.
When using the 120W mode, the phones gets 20V @6A current.
Now the battery is 3,7V and can deliver 5Ah -> 18,5Wh (more or less, the battery voltage is actually closer to 4,2V and is almost 5V when charging a normal battery)
                      Anyway, in order to reach 18,5Wh worth of energy in the battery, you would need to charge the battery with 18,5W for 1 hour. But your charger goes to 120W, so 18,5W/120W = 0,154;
0,154 * 1hour = 9,24minutes...if there would be no power losses and if the heat from charging would be not existent. But since we are interested in real life charging, the profile for charging considers temperature and power losses, that is why it takes twice as long to fully charge.

The advantage of charging with 120W, is that when the battery is at more than 20%, then you can charge it to 80% within few minutes, bcoz the charging profile drops the speed of charging later on , as the battery/phone will then get too hot.

On average, you are literally charging the battery with ~60W and not 120W, 120 is the peak and mostly usefull if charging 20% to 80%....

As a side note, if you could charge the whole time with 120W, and it would take 17min to fully charge, then the battery capacity would be 34Wh, 34Wh/3,7V = 9,18Ah -> 9180mAh Battery
Yup, the average charging power does not come close to 120W, maybe 100W if for like 2 minutes....that gives you about +18% on the battery.

Why does the battery not drop from 100% as quickly as from 20%?
It is part of the charging profile and battery management....
When many charging cycles has been introduced to the battery, it will be more stable and the % of the battery will drop more equally, and after like 2 years, it will drop from 100% to like 95 within few minutes....there is more to it to explain...

Phil, 04 Jun 2022Man you either either know fcuk all about phones or you jus... moreyou are funny, and you can talk all day long, i own 11Tpro and owned S20Ultra and S21Ultra, compared them too, 11Tpro is the winner, main camera pics are almost exactly the same on all phones, just the colors are mostly better on 11Tpro.

And who the hell uses USB to transfer data these days? in case you did not notice, the phone has WiFi.
"It take over 30min just to delete a 5GB file" ....you are the only genius that connects phones with USB and then deletes files via USB, which moves the file from phone to your PC recycle bin....you are transferring files :D
A hint for you, unlock the phone, find the file or files, and delete them on the phone, takes 2seconds.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2022You will receive messages, but won't receive notificat... moreExactly. They have purposely wrongly calibrated the charging scale. After reaching the 100% level, charging continues if plugged in - may be effective up to 140%. So, you see a drop in 100% to 90% taking a long time. But if you immediately discontinue charging after reaching 100%, then dropping from 100% to 90% is fast. Similarly, a 20% scale corresponds to a 5% actual battery charge which is why an immediate drop is noticed from 20% to 0%. Actually, you can not wait up to 20% but from the 40% level, charging should start.
Probably they are making a tall claim for charging 0% to 100% in 17 min., and hence to substantiate that claim, the wrong scale is fitted.
Now, I do not want to get trapped with such gimmicks and use the phone with a proper charging scale.
Anybody can guide us on properly calibrating the battery scale so that we can use it genuinely.

krissy, 15 May 2022owned S20Ultra = crap, updates sometimes fixed things, but ... moreMan you either either know fcuk all about phones or you just trolling!! 11T pro is not a patch to Galaxy! Even S8 beats it. The cameras are shit, no stabilisation, over saturated and grainy. The software is horrendous. The USB port is extremely slow for transfers and so is internal storage memory. It take over 30min just to delete a 5GB file. That is unheard of in comparison to Galaxies! All 11T pro has is good charging and Snapdragon 888 which really is just a disguise for shit performance

Booy, 03 Jun 2022You mean that you don't have any of problems that I me... moreif you have some probs with phone, send feedback, i did and probs got fixed, but i had no such probs as you had either, mostly some not very significant probs, such as not being able to change ringtone to some mp3 file, or the 'skip lock screen' option wouldn't work with face unlocking - for that i got a reply from a 'developer' and it actually got fixed on the next update....altho, i am not sure if that was a problem, rather a suggestion which made sense not only to myself.

Send feedback and a precise but not too long description, if its fixable, they will fix it.

As for the battery, the way they display the battery percentage is a gimmick. It takes long time to go from 100 to 90, then 90 to 80 is bit faster and so on. After 20 percent to zero it goes very fast. The battery otherwise is normal. If they had caliberated such that it drops evenly, it would be better. But the battery usage would still be same
