I do understand the lack of the MicroSD slot and jack, this is the current tendency, as it could save space and money, and everyone is doing that.
I also understand that certifications are expensive.
But ... 1080p on the front camera, and USB 2.0 in a 2022's flagship?

They definitely did not use zoom LOL
Currently i use Xiaoimi (Mi?)11Tpro, i think it does 2x Zoom, and that is still good enough, any zoom beyond 2x is terrible on S20Ultra, P40Pro and all other phones too - with a tripod, i guess it's clear pics will be totally trashed if no tripod.

It's a link to a google photos album with pics comparing Samsung S20Ultra, Huawei P40Pro and Xiaomi MiNote10. If you feel like it then check it out, best on laptop or desktop PC. On the very bottom of that album, a Zoom comparison, there are pics of a church with a tower and a field of some red flowers with distant power line towers. I don't remember details on the flowers....but on the church i do, the distance according to google is about 1,03km, comparison: Zoom on S20Ultra =100x, 50x & 5x. P40pro =50x and 5x? MiNote10 =50x and 5x.
As can be seen on church tower pics, all with tripod....they are trash, best was 5x, still trash. Useless. The one with the red flowers/power line towers are without a tripod.
If you are familiar with google photos, then you know that you can look up the info about the focal length, ISO used etc.

I think that phone companies should learn from mistakes.
What is the purpose of making a phone every year why don't companies stay n release a phone after 2 years that should be at least polished, in hardware n software both.
They must listen to the users at least don't remove the basics which are essential to every known person on earth like headphone jacks and SD slot.
After 2015 I think there is no major improvement in smart phones seriously If you have some iPhone 6s or 7 or 8 and android smartphone of Snapdragon 821,835 or similarly generation believe you me there is no need to buy new there is nothing there majorly improved.
Please smart phones companies try to be mindful of making things.

how many years has it been and I still see people complaining about headphone jacks i doubt most of these people even use wired earphones as the majority of people now own some sort of wireless audio devices mainly AirPods can you really call no headphone jack a con at this point since literally every new phone dosnt have it

i see many people complaining about how new phones don't have expandable storage. whens the last time you've run out of storage on your phone before you went and bought a new one most people only use the phones for 3 to 5 years some even less and with most phones base variant, mid-range or flagships have 128GB which is more than enough for the majority you,d only run into storage problems if your constantly taking 4k or 8k videos and photos but most people don't so it really doesn't matter that it isn't expandable storage

krissy, 31 Dec 2021i never used optical zoom, except i compared the pic qualit... moreAnyone who uses their cameras for vacation photos (e.g., landmarks, squares, streets, buildings, landscapes, etc) rather than just "pub" photos will have needed, at some point, a telephoto (zoom) lens and an ultrawide lens. That's just what happens when you cannot properly control the distance to your subject, either because you'll fall into a cliff, walk into busy traffic, cannot walk through a solid wall, etc. Of course if all you do is take table photos, selfies and group shots you'll be fine with whatever default lens they put there, you just walk away/close in freely because you'll have the time and the pub (and similar) give you those degrees of freedom to position the camera.

Yah..whatever. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 and now 12, most human bought phone just to play games, doing some whatsapp thing, make some selfie in toilet and sleep. And then bought the new 13 and life continue rolling and rolling rounding until death.

the maker that delivered the market's best under-screen selfie shooter in 2021 with its Mix4
what weird decisions that they did not elevate that info their new flagships, like Mi12 / pro / Ultra.
but sure a big honking hole in the display is ideal, for a selfie shooter that quite a few uses.
On these big phones that people often uses for media, its really annoying these holes, particularly if the alternative is a selfie camera quality like we saw with their Mix4, but whatever its Xiaomi.. often make weird decisions... as we saw with their Mi FOLD, that hands down was the worst of them all.. Samsung, Huawei, Oppo.. has nothing to worry about if that is Xiaomi's contender.
