I am with Optimus below on this one. This is the world's best phone. I've never even held a phone that is this solid and well made. It cannot be understated just how much effort and thought has gone into this phone. Performance is absolutely rock solid, charging battery life etc. I've been using it non-stop and installing so many apps and changing things, and even after 7h of almost constant usage I've only lost 25% battery.

Size and ergonomics are so perfect. I hated how my Xperia 1V was so thin and the bottom of the phone cut into my hand. This phone is smooth and comfortable in the hand. I got the Camera Kit and it's a huge step above the 13 Ultra kit. The USB-C connection and charging is such a huge benefit. Instant shots, whereas on the 13 Ultra it's Bluetooth which is super laggy.

Removed the bloat (it didn't even come with much). Also installed a different launcher, set up adblock DNS. It's absolutely flawless. Also no problems with notifications of western apps like Whatsapp. Finally!

Oh and the camera. It makes me laugh they are comparing this to Samdung. It is absolutely no comparison. The 15U just cannot take a bad photo and the pro mode even beats Sony which is saying something. Love the fastshot that the 15U camera kit comes with too. 200MP mode is incredible and the telephoto and macro capability is amazing. I'll be patient for them to make the 4K video a bit sharper, it's maybe my ONLY nitpick. The rest of the phone is pure quality. No wonder the West is so scared of China.

Very glad I didn't wait for the Vivo X200 Ultra. I'm sure it will be a fantastic device. But I am in love with Xiaomi and Leica. Don't care if people call me a fanboy. Haters will hate. I haven't been this impressed in a phone in years.

I just bought Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China and believe me its amazing . Touch is so smooth , soothing and relaxing , performance is amazing as it never slows down and most importantly battery of 6000(Only in China you can have 6000 mah battery) is more than enough .

But 1) I hope these things I don't like may be fixed with updates, and for that users need to say what they'd like to be improved and 2) I've always found reviews helpful and usually considered them when buying stuff, so tried my best to help others make an informed decision. Again, most of my complaints seem solvable with an update (or maybe there's already a fix you guys can tell me)

I obviously haven't (though set it up myself). The phone seems great and I'd appreciate getting the most out of it. I may be a lousy adapter to new UIs, you're right, but it may have to do with me being probably older and sightly OCD.

That's why I stated I haven't played games on either phone, but I'm puzzled as why a free apps take seconds to open. A few. Medical ones. Pretty much everything else opens fast.
I've changed the battery charging setting from standard to fast charging and it's now about 1h. I wonder why fast charging isn't standard - is it safe to keep it on fast?
For the rest, forget the user, discuss the problems mentioned, amigo. If you have a solution for some, share it. If they don't bother you, accept they do bother me. And some others as I see on the local Xiaomi Community app.

Unless you got a defective unit, the charging speed isn't that slow, even if fast charging is off. And when you compared it to a S21 you definitely lost me. Of course that it's going to perform identically to a S21 if what you're doing is browsing through social media apps. Even a midrange from 2022 can do that. I doubt you even have this phone, mi compa el mitomano.

Rodolfo79, 10 Mar 2025Hello. New user of X15 Ultra, after 14 years of Samsung G... moreanother user of the same phone here. First of all I see that you mostly gone for some weird issues. i used the phone for the last 10-12 days and none of the hardware problems you mentioned had any issues for me. The battery is one big thing for me since the last SoC I used was Snapdragon gen 8th 1, which for the battery was a disaster. Now the battery hold for the day even during long sessions of gaming, try using a different adapter, my 67 watt charger works perfectly. considering I am mostly using phone for gaming and photography I am satisfied with all 3 components of it; photography, performance and battery. Truth to be told the 120x zoom is mostzly a digital zoom and it works better than most. for the software issue there are options to use the phone you intended to. just go to options-->home screen-->with app drawer. it functions ok by my opinion. also the scroll to the right interpret as a back function, it serves me the same as any iphone, samsung or any other phone i used. you can also change them to the buttons via options-->home screen-->system navigation. you also mentioned the control center/notification issues if you scrolled on the right and opened control center, you can scroll to the left to just move to notification.

by the issues you had, you didn't even used the phone, by my standards, because most of the mentioned software issues are just "easier to brag than to help yourself" problems. 2 of 3 mentioned issues are something that it asks you when you setup your phone which mostly tells me you didn't setup it yourself or you just wanted to vent on the issues where people don't like to adapt on different surroundings. by adapt I meant on the UI that is different

Sorry if I've hurt your feelings, I was under the impression that we're here in the user opinions section, not in a fan club. Where has critical thinking disappeared, mate? I mention Samsung's phone in a few places because that's what I had and known, so that's what I compare Xiaomi's with. And because it did some things better. And because I waited a lot for it, and paid a lot of money on it, and it's @#$&ing frustrating to see these shortcomings. Some really annoying, especially when you're used to having more, and some really worrying, like the battery. We're not here to applaud like seals but to offer honest reviews. It certainly does a great deal of things fine and the photos are great, but most of the time I'm not using it for that and I want things to run smoothly. So get it, but wait to see if it deserves - and that you see by looking how they tend to improve based on user opinions. Plus, every phone brand should look at what others are doing better - copy that, or make it even better. Specs on paper are just a part of the matter. And like I said, I didn't care where the brand comes from and I support and reward innovation. But they need to prioritize - if you have a great camera that you use it in the weekends and in holiday, that's amazing, but the rest of the time you should be running a phone smoothly and bug-free. Optimize, but fast. It's even worthier when people invest trust in your brand and you've got the top hardware.

As a rule, my friend, unless you're on a payroll, address the ideas and not the person. Do you find my mentioned annoyances deniable? Do you have a solution for some of them? Do you think I should be here just for applauds?

Rodolfo79, 10 Mar 2025Hello. New user of X15 Ultra, after 14 years of Samsung G... moreYou look like a bot programmed to talk bad about this device1 you mention Samsung more than Xiaomi itself in your thread

                                  Hello.
New user of X15 Ultra, after 14 years of Samsung Galaxy (S2, S6, S21 Ultra). The latter I dropped in water (IP68 is a mere memory after a few years, apparently) and lost the back cameras completely.
Great camera, great hardware and great reviews swept my feet off the groundb of reason, much more so that I was frustrated with Samsung's keeping the same hardware for years and bragging about its AI - part of which you never use, and the other part that everybody has. Many around told me not to but Chinese, but I thought premium quality is premium quality and one should reward innovation.

Well, 5 days into it and here's my list of annoyances. Besides that, it's good stuff. Or normal.

                                  HARDWARE:
As I was fiddling with reinstalling apps and logging in here and there, I had to restart the battery TWICE during the day. No games or anything like that. Then, 90W or not, with a 120W charger from Xiaomi, it charges in 50-60 minutes. Pretty much like the S25 Ultra with a lot less watts. Wtf is that? Also, last night I charged my phone at midnight and had a look at it around 1.30 AM. It was at 31%!!! After one and a half hours!!! I hope to God that that's a feature of slow charging during the night to protect the battery out something, or else...
I also hope to God that the speakers can get better through a software update. Dolby Sound is harsh, high pitched, metallic, Xiaomi sound is curiously way better, but still not close to the audio quality and melodicity of my S21 Ultra.
The phone is fast, but... I honestly don't see any difference in terms of speed vs my S21 Ultra. I was not playing games, though. I have an app, for instance - a very simple app for disease codings, and it opens in 3 seconds.
If you've ever considered getting this phone for satellite communication, don't. There is no two way satellite communication. Zero. Nada. I know Xiaomi didn't mention it in their global laugh, nor did they advertise it much, but I feel like it would be common sense to publicly insist on that difference with the Chinese variant. Cause it was a feature that I would have much cherished, as someone venturing in places with low signal.
Camera is great, but - AS IN ANY CAMERA, to be honest - 120x zoom is merely a marketing thing. As opposed to binoculars, where 20x means you actually see things 20 times closer, this 120x means it's 120x times larger than the main lens. To match the size of the image on the screen with what you see with your bare eyes, you'd have to roughly magnify at 7x. Were you buying a binocular, that would mean the image is actually only 17x closer than what you see. So when you look at some videos on the internet with its zoom, don't imagine you'll see the buttons of some lady on the beach some 3 km away. Far from it, even though the zoom is great indeed.
The large camera module left me searching (so far unsuccessfully) for a car holder that's a bit shorter in the back so that it wouldn't scratch the lenses.
The screen, now (though I guess it might be a software issue as well): when I swipe right from the edge for "back", with my left hand, it frequently doesn't work from the first try.
In the text box (in messages), if I write a word with swipe, with a beginning letter from the edge of the screen (e.g. "p"), it is interpreted as "back" and takes me out of the text box. Tried with different sizes of edge ignore area, but it's the same. SUPER ANNOYING!

                                  SOFTWARE
There seems to be no way to remove an application from the screen without uninstalling it. As a rule, I only have the option to uninstall, and veeery rarely the option to remove from the screen (and then it's for a few system apps only). Imagine for some apps I only use their widget, and others I want to keep but rarely use, so I'm left with the widget AND the futile or the rarely used app icon on the screen. VERY ANNOYING!
There seems to be no option to show all applications with swipe up on the screen from the bottom. The only options being "control center", "search" or "nothing". ANNOYING!
There's no way to see the favorite numbers in a small list, just like the others in the phonebook, and preferably at the beginning of the phonebook, not separately. You see your favorite contacts as biiiig icons in a separate tab in calls/agenda. VERY ANNOYING!
I can't save Chrome pages on the screen as a shortcut to that page. There's no such option in settings as allowing Chrome to add shortcuts on the screen (as mentioned on some forums). It only saves as an app. Therefore I can't open tabs of that website in the same group without the extra action of opening it in Chrome. VERY ANNOYING!
To see notifications, I have to drag them with my finger from the top left only.. Otherwise, I open the control center. It was great on other UIs that you could drag them from anywhere in the top edge; then, if you dragged further, you reached the control center. VERY ANNOYING, especially since it's top left of a big phone and most people are right-handed.
It's mid March and my HyperOS version is only 2.0.9.0, even though Xiaomi said 2.1 is launched globally in February.
In the Phonebooth, call, video call, message and edit are stupidly arranged at the top end.
Also, widgets' margins cannot be edited so that they stay in line vertically with the app icons. A 4x1 widget is a little narrower then 4 icons side by side. Kinda annoying esthetically, especially if you're a bit OCD.
                                  And a 4x5 grid didn't hurt.
There are also some differences in how apps handle the system. For instance, Gboard on my S21 Ultra could have a choice of one or two or three languages at once from the total of downloaded threeb now if I download there, they're all in use. Which is annoying because of how you handle special characters.

All of this was software issues were not seen and all the software wishes were possible on the Samsung. Surely one could argue that that's a matter of being used to one way over another, but what I've described above are losses. It's not that you do something differently, it's that you can't do it at all.

I HOPE THERE IS A XIAOMI BIG GUY WHO THROWS AN EYE HERE EVERY NOW AND THEN. You guys have made a great phone, make us not regret spending a bloody fortune, neither changing the brand. Work on that software and let us know here what you've changed. You have ideas from your users, put them at work for once.
