Xiaomi Black Shark will soon launch gaming smartphones in India
Xiaomi-backed Black Shark launched its first gaming smartphone last April. Six months later, the company announced a successor called Black Shark Helo. The company initially operated in China, but later made its way to Europe in November. Now it is further expanding the business by setting up operations in India.
Black Shark has announced that its India office will be headquartered in Bengaluru and will be headed by David Li who's the VP of Black Shark Global. Joining him will be Chirag Nagendra as the Marketing Head of Black Shark India. Nagendra has previously worked with OnePlus as the Head of Communications.
While Black Shark has confirmed that it's setting up its operations in India, it has said that an official date of its India debut will be announced later.
In addition to selling gaming smartphones, Black Shark may also sell peripherals like the Gamepad 2.0 controller in India.
Hardware-wise there's not much difference between the Black Shark Helo and its predecessor, so it remains to be seen which of these smartphones will make its way to India. However, the Black Shark 2 is expected to go official this month or in April, so we may see the company launching its latest gaming smartphone in the country instead of an older model.
