Owned it 5mon so far, decent phone, nothing fancy but good overall. Glitchy phone app, doesnt always detect face proximity sensor.
No FM radio app built in.
Camera bump requires a case.
Comes with screen protector which looks good.
GSMarena seems out of date on some phones, the android version is higher on some phones than what they say here.
Can't recommend to friends because its not easy to order for cheap equivalent price in Canada.

Wish it had NFC.
Camera: 7/10 (I don't like the motion blur.)
Performance: 8/10 (I have pretty low standards since I was living off a Moto E first generation.)
Size: 10/10 (The perfect size for my hands!)
Battery: 9/10 (3080mAh battery great for whatever I need)
Rootability: 10/10 (This is an AB slot device, and there is no recovery partition. So you will have to fastboot to TWRP instead.)
Themeability: 6/10 (Some things are hard to change.)
Recommended Launcher: Nova Launcher Prime (Dark theme looks aesthetic.)
Overall: 9/10 (This has put my older phone to shame.)

As for September patch it should be in next few days as usually security patch update by end of the month, then again I did experienced a late update which push forward till next calendar month.
Just be patience.

Just go to SETTINGS -> DEVICE ADMIN. APPS. -> and check the list of apps , if there is some unusual app then just format your phone or simply uninstall that app.

Home screen wallpaper goes off and a random screenshot appears over the home screen, sometimes after ending a received call.
Wallpaper would be restored only after restarting the phone.
Anybody else faced this irritating issue?

Keep in mind, even the highest permissible SAR value authorised by FCC which is 1.6 w/kg is safe. If it goes beyond that, OEM's are not allowed to sell their phones in any Market.
so don't worry nothings gonna happen to you.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2018You have tampered the phone by some unauthorized technician... moreDear I have not tinkered with the device and neither anyone, only plausible reason seems that Service center people saw the expiry date of the Warranty which was due on 23th September, just 4 days to, when I approached them . that is why I am saying Beware of Xiaomi Service Centers ...they not the one, just a Myth.
Xiaomi should look into this and make there service centres behave ..at least with senior citizens.

Using since 7 month but not facing any issue just battery drain fast but now is also stable...
Waiting for Android P...is any body received?.....or when will we....any idea?

I went there to get the V... moreThat is unfortunate, it must be one of the irresponsible third party authorised service centre which will blame you and not wanting to warrant your phone.
From what I know, replacing any of the buttons in MiA1 will require to change the whole back housing. Which I believe they don't have any sufficient stock and that's why they will push the responsibility away or find any cosmetic problem to void your warranty. Anyway try to find another staff at another time see how they respond.
