I have a Redmi Note 5 and it gets excellent battery life (8-9 hr SOT). Your unit might be defective.

Have this phone I love the android one, while I miss some of the miui gimmick the notification just kill miui, I can expand WA notification with one finger also it can show multiple groups with multiple reply for each group way way more powerful than miui. Overall notification a lot better, I do miss block sms by keyword.
IR blaster actually not all that good not working with my AC, and in anymote I got warning that the IR is weaker version so it may not work with some AC...

what good is everything perfect but the screen is soo fragile no protection, one drop in any side then you have a broken lcd...always....

That's all cheap phones from 2017-2018, but still better than most of others in this price segment. In EU is the same case if you dont buy via operater than phone for 150 or 200 euros, Xiaomi is still the best. Just look at Poco F1, price 265 euros, really great (cheap) smartphone, ok plastic-fantastic (no metal, or back glass), but for that price who cares, also you get tpu in the box and MIUI but with app drawer (similar to Pixels) :D

If it is software-related you can probably fix it.
That would mean that something is using your phone while you are charging it. Is you screen (or screen saver) on while charging it?
Is some app running in the background a lot? (you could check battery usage when the battery decreases to see this)
Is your phone using wifi?
Did you try charging it while the phone is turned off?
Also, not software-related: are you using original phone charger?

Can someone help me. I bought this phone yesterday. But when I charge it the phone is so hot. I'm not even using it. And the battery drain so fast. And this my first xiaomi phone. Its hard to use. I bought band 2 and amazfit and I really like it. That why I tried there phone too. Plss help me with this problem.

for mi a2 lite: head 1.04 W/kg, body 1.15 W/kg
dunno why.. its the same device, different operating system

That was a time, when Mi A1 was a new device, that phone in 2017 was great, cheap, Xiaomi, and first "androidone" device from known manufacture, or one of the first (maybe Motorola X4 is first, but price tag was a differente). Xiaomi with unibody, and androidone and price tag about 200$ in 2017? Perfect.. Thats a reason of the poll.. Milions A1 was sells in India. But, today is differente, Mi A2 Lite, this phone.. Is not officially available in Indian market, right? But Redmi 6 Pro (older brother but it's a identical phone, just with MIUI). Time changes, also, i think that in that market, Xiaomi is number one (or two), and that is not just because of one device with androidone (Mi A1), but for other Xiaomi phone in the last 2 years, and most of them, or all, runs on some version of MIUI.
About Note 4, yes, ture and that i wrote, but this model is almost 2 year old mid smartphone, and it was (in price segment) great smartphone, even today i bet that works good on MIUI 9 :D

That model is one of the most selling from Xiaomi, because it's cheap, and have good battery life, processor, build, Qndeoid version out of box, and cameras (better in low light than this A2 Lite, or anything from HMD with "Nokia" logo, except 7 Plus, and 6 .1 Plus). Milions Notes 5 are world wide in use, you just have bad luck.

Redmi 6 pro has weak network.same sim same service provider in redmi note 4 & 3s prime full network & in redmi 6 pro half network or no network.
