jonn, 12 Dec 2019does anybody who owns a xiaomi device have problems regardi... moreyes.
1. Xiaomi Wifi to Router Wifi = bad, i get max 60% of the speed, sometimes less than half
2. Xiaomi Wifi to 'PC Wifi Mobile Hotspot' = 100% speed
Wifi router -> PC -> Xiaomi phone = 100% speed
3. testing speed with Ookla speedtest, app doesn't work perfectly, browser version of the Ookla speedtest gives best results
4. Wifi/Bluetooth scanning is disabled? one of the reasons connecting to Wifi may take longer, will however not affect download/upload speed
why won't Wifi work as it should?
in my case it's a Vodafone router, pretty much the router can't deal with Chinese technology, some certificates are missing or outdated....not in the phone, Vodafone is guilty?
so my PC filters the internet already, and the output i can share, therefore router can't know Xiaomi is connected....
how to fix it? disabling security in your router settings = bad solution but may work, i do not suggest doing that
is Xiaomi at fault? no, if you get 100% speed on some Wifi but on another not, then its the Wifi source that checks for security threats way too much, thus slowing down the data

This is not at all normal that the Mi Note 10 is more expensive with the SD730 than the Mi9Tpro with the SD 855 for 150 Euros. Idiocy.

Is there someone working on GCam for Mi Note 10 already? Would appreciate if there is a video for it. Much easier to follow through than just words and sentences. :(

AltairBG, 09 Dec 2019I want to ask something:
Mi 9T have nano coating P2i and i... moreyou seem to confuse few things, for one, if you keep your phone in a pocket, it's warm, therefore if it falls into water or on cold surface it will suck in air or water inside of the phone, regardless of any pico coating or nano coating,
secondly once the water is inside, and you put it back into your pocket, the water will partially turn into steam and will penetrate any free space in the phone
simply said, buy 5kg sack of rice, a huge glass jar, and if you spill any water on the Mi Note 10 or Mi 9T pro or not pro, just throw it quickly into that jar with rice and keep it there for days, and if the water was clean you may be lucky and the phone will work without any problems.
That applies to any phone that exists to this day, except Caterpillar, their phones are on a different level of water resistance.

I want to ask something:
Mi 9T have nano coating P2i and it's splash-resistant..
Do Mi Note 10 have this P21 coating too?
I mean..For this price it must have this atleast, right?
GSM Arena doesn't say that Mi 9T have nano coating P2i or any kind of IP rating - but it does.
So is it the same about Mi Note 10?

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2019WHY does Xiaomi resist upgrading to IP68+ for waterproofing... moreThey would have to pay to have the IP68 certification, so prices would go up, their CEO talked about it on an interview awhile back

WHY does Xiaomi resist upgrading to IP68+ for waterproofing? Their gear has to be able to withstand tropical downpour and keep on working. This is important but AFAIK, none of the Xiaomi phones have IP68??

Atropine, 05 Dec 2019Will it have a long "life"? Its processor is very weak comp... moreinteresting question, while not assuming that in few weeks a new king of phones will appear? that is a given, even Mate30Pro will find itself outclassed , so either way you will buy a new phone within 1year, ofc if you can afford it and if you need latest tech for some reason;
i have no doubts, i will keep it for few months....until next time.

Will it have a long "life"? Its processor is very weak compared to most phones, I'm not sure if it'll last long enough before a replacement. Compared to the Oppo Reno Ace, which is better?

krissy, 04 Dec 2019well, just my opinion since i know no one who has no Facebo... moreI only know a few people who use facebook (and many who don't). It's still better to have the option to have it installed or not.
Tech in the US is cheaper anyway than in europe. You pay 400$ therewhich is around 350€, but it costs 450€ instead.

B0B, 04 Dec 2019yeah, Xiaomi was known for being full of ads, but that was ... morewell, just my opinion since i know no one who has no Facebook account, and pretty much everyone has a youtube account too since google owns it, just like the Android OS;
simply said for me it's not bloatware :|
i also use amazon and ebay from time to time,
games and other stuff however are, and yea the ads that are like part of their website are being ignored easily, but full screen ads is a new thing for me
about the price, hmm, idk, like US cars in US are cheap but in EU same cars cost up to 30% more, Tesla base model 100D in US 90 000EUR compared to EU @ 105 000EUR, but cars like Audi A4 base model costs almost same money in US and EU, i say it's more the politic behavior of US putting on taxes on China and other countries, there comes the price....ads do their own money making way: but that is how i see things

krissy, 04 Dec 2019so essentially yes, yes you can escape ads...bcoz i can see... moreyeah, Xiaomi was known for being full of ads, but that was before they made global versions. My previous phones (Samsung, Sony, LG) had preinstalled bloatware like facebook which I couldn't delete. I was very surprised when I got my Xiaomi that there isn't anything at all.
But that's why the Mi Note 10 costs 550€ but only 350€ in China. They sell it non-profit and make their money by ads and the Mi App Store, which they don't in europe.

B0B, 04 Dec 2019yeah I've now got this face-emoji app and I can't delete it... moreso essentially yes, yes you can escape ads...bcoz i can see ads when i want to?
when i was playing with the region settings, i forgot to change it back and i was on Kazakhstan or something and an odd surprise to see full screen ads while browsing files in file manager, took me a sec to realize i forgot to change it back, if you change region to like any European country you shall see no ads, or at least only in the apps that has been installed by you...
i mean i don't want it to sound like 'first world problems' but, until now i had no idea i can get ads on system apps, especially that i never owned a xiaomi phone before, huawei and samsung do not care for region settings; and thus it did seem for me that just changing the region settings can't possibly do anything, i was wrong :|
