And, while I agree with your complaint that newer models get prioritized, it is the same for almost all other manufactureres: the newest models get the latest Android versions faster. The biggest shame comes from companies which deliberately throttle performance of devices to make people buy newer models, because that has an actual impact on the functionality of those devices.

Sure, you don’t get immediate updates with Poco, but you do get devices which can cost half the money and can have double the performance of those „urgently updated“ phones. And you STILL get the SAME security updates eventually, even on the Pocos. Anyone can SEE and FEEL the difference in performance and cost in favor of the Poco phones. But can you SEE and FEEL the difference between phones which have different security patches?

        Poco F5 12/256GB version cost 379 euro and get one OS update more as of now and 2 years more of security updates but that dont mean the phone will stop working or is in bad build quality.

        And when the software support is done then buy new 400 euro phone from Xiaomi then it will have 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates so for the same 800 euro you get 7 years of updates while with second phone also get all the hardware updates too.

        By performance as by the Antutu v10 score the pixel 8 pro is close to same 1.1 million benchmark score with the Poco F5 and the price difference is double while you get only a bit more of software updates by just paying 400 euro more. Is that really worth it for the update pleasure sake ?

        With pixel 8 pro you get better cameras, screen and usb-c port but thats about it.
        F5 have better battery duration and faster charger and also have 3.5mm jack

        Pixel offers nothing special. For the money i would of gone with either Samsung S23 or S24 as with S23 would save money too and still have better phone with better performance then the Pixel and also longer duration of software support as Sumsung give 7 years over pixel 5 years. when the software support is the main priority you need to have and cant live without.

        Also you can buy the pixel twice too cause there is no guarantee that you wont get defected device that breaks down on something in few years as that is the risk in electronics for everything and price dont matter in it.

            For me more important is performance in a phone for lower price.
            I am not willing to spend more money on a phone just to have more updates with it.

            Also updates have risks and some brands even make there last update to drain the battery more or slow down the performance just so you go buy a new phone from them. Apple have done that and also Sumsung have done that in the past. And both got caught with it.

            You basically spend something 800 euro to get 300k less in Antutu v10 performance with the Pixel 8 Pro over this Poco F5 just to get more android updates and security updates. Is that really worth that more 400 euro ?

            Also security updates wont guarantee you safety as app will collect your data and sell it or use it or give it to policing institutes. Like one of the 3 digit US institute that demanded all people data who watched some specific video in few months ago. Just was news about it.

            Safety is just illusion for people that are easy to manipulate

            In the end of the day if the safety is concern for you then turn off internet and GPS in your phone and never turn them on. Just remember everything you write or upload will stay in the internet forever and be impossible to remove.

I won't be going back to Xiaomi, if they can't look after their customers then they can't expect to keep them.

                    Recently i updated my system. Unfortunately my fingerprint sensor not working properly. Fingerprint hardware got some issues. There is no patch update they are not providing. Its not physical issue.it's technical issue,but customer care person recommended for physical service. I need a update. But they are not ready to give.

                      Would be nice if they give me the latest security update like March when they release it in the middle of that month that is. But your phone have some issues or something that you still have so old update. Do you even have hyberOS update on your phone ? If not then dont even hope to get security updates with it.

                      You should try to change region in your phone to get updates and when updated then change back to your own region.

                      With my last phone i needed to change region to India to have face unlock function working

                          in xiaomi you only need xiaomi account and find devices if your phone stolen or lost just like iCloud

                            The last Security Level update I received was dated 01-11-2023 which makes it over 5 months old. I shouldn't be surprised at that because everyone knows that Xiaomi doesn't look after their customers when they have a newer model in the pipeline they want to sell. I'm on the lookout for a new phone but it won't be a Xiaomi model . I have noticed that the Pixel 8 Pro is dropping in price now that the Pixel 9 is due soon. I don't particularly like that phone but I know that it will receive monthly updates for years to come.

But even with Snapdragon chips all the phones that now come out of the box with HyberOS the solution to open the phone wont be easy anymore and it wont take only few weeks to unlock to get a custom rom to install on them

                                      Also X6 Pro was promised to have 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates. As that was the promise with all 2024 phones with out of the box HyberOS phones

                                      X6 none Pro version with Android 13 yeah but it's already on 14 and you talk about 15 that is just released on beta stage and that 15 be out end of the year like the 14 come in November or something
