Mike Coxlong, 09 Oct 2020I've grown from spending top dollar for high end into ... moreI ain't running after oppo and vivo . There devices are high priced but the quality assurance is there .
Have been using lg devices since they came up with their dynamite series. Ditched lg with their G3 as the ui was more of a cartoon kind for my taste.
I agree with what you said about lg . They always tried to bring new things on table be it their camera on g4 or even the detachable things on the later series i guess it was a g5 (kinda modular device ) I am getting a great deal with their G8x as one retail is offering a packed piece for around 1500 AED that's approx 400 dollars .
2 displays for that price with hifi quad dac and a couple of 2.4 w speakers . That's a steal .
Coming to Xiaomi
Started with their redmi hongmi or a redmi 2 , then an Mi4 and 4i that's where things changed. They were heating machines .
A redmi note 4 with a strange mic problem and they never fixed it even after I replaced the device 2 times .
Their best redmi note 5 pro with some amazing camera capabilities which they ruined with the updates that followed after wards .
I stopped their until a pocofone F1 arrived .
I got myself a Kevlar edition and that device with time gave me enough reasons to cast my doubts on the brand Xiaomi.
I am not the only one to go through this but I believe there would be many who feel the same. Xiaomi does provide the best bang for the buck but over the expense of hardware and software problems . I've always believed that Xiaomi provides the half baked stuff in the market or they are in a hurry with their launches and later on try to fix things with the updates .
Got this poco x3 as a standby device after i broke my phone .
Now at least i have my own reasons to hate this device for i am facing problems ever since i put my sim card in it.

Zephyr, 08 Oct 2020Love for Xiaomi and too much hate for BBK brands . Lemme a... moreI've grown from spending top dollar for high end into finding the best bang for my buck. The worst for me is Samsung. I don't like its duplicate for everything, that it slows down considerably in less than a year and it depreciates a lot, but the latter is true for every android though. The best is actually LG, but it's marketing is haphazard. One Plus is ultimately overrated, my one and final OP is the 6. LG is truly the jack of all trade, but master of none, but it's better than a master of only one. iPhone is good but ultimately I need my youtube vanced and happymod apps. But one thing is clear, ever since Redmi Note 5, I've been coming back to Xiaomi for it's best bang for buck and the IR blaster. So is it wrong to call myself a Xiaomi fanboy? It depends on your definition of fanboy. I skipped what Xiaomi that I don't like and then when Poco X3 came with features like this for USD190? Heck yeaa I'm going to praise them for such effort. We need more brand to follow xiaomi's suit, to give high quality stuff for a cheaper price. Or do you prefer the likes of Oppo and Vivo which is churning out phones with outdated processors, downgraded screens and cameras. You want to see blind fanboism, go check out their pages lol.

Zephyr, 08 Oct 2020You are a lucky customer to grab one for low price . Poco ... moreWell sucks to be you guys but in Malaysia the Poco X3 6/64 can be yours for RM799/USD190 at 1USD=RM4.2, at least on line. The walk in price is RM899/USD214. Blame your govt then lol.

Zephyr, 08 Oct 2020Hey stop there you're going way too fast.
Let's ... moreincluding your loved ones, IF I'D
BE LIKE THIS - was meant to express this is little irony and should not be taken too seriously
And yes I repeat have no need to keyfight here about which brand is innovative and which in opposite copied from innovative one. (guess it's hardly possible discuss all aspects here due to posting rules anyway) I myself see pros and cons for both Chinese and (let's call it) non-Chinese brands and I'm not that happy about smartphone market situation globally. In the end, all I (person) can do is to make my own decisions like which phone/brand I buy or buy not, I'm not trying to solve it all in GSMA forum section. Peace to you

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2020How on Earth is any Chinese brand an innovation, if they... moreHey stop there you're going way too fast.
Let's go back to 2008 when the Chinese started copying the next big thing.
Ah ! Wait did you say Chinese copied Apple.
Oh let them that's not even the topic to be worth discussing.
But did you say they actually copied Apple ?
Every year apple makes headlines about 10 things apple copied from Android
16 things apple copied etc
I said apple ain't an innovative company anymore and they are failing to bring anything new to the table in smartphones, apps, smart devices, or even their retail stores.
You are being judgemental here by writing something like loved ones . That's you being biased towards other brands.
All I said was Xiaomi a no more paladin in this category trying to be a sentinel for its copying nature but scampers away when users gripe about its policies and products .

Review after handling the device for 15 days.
Keep in mind I am a heavy user and spend a considerable amount of time on phone calls and video streaming. I have not played a single game on this machine.
This is my assessment and anyone can agree to disagree with me.
The pros are few and cons have an edge over the advantages.
Here is a list of advantages.
1: Marvellous sound quality with the inbuilt dual speakers. (Incredibly Loud)
2: Impressive battery with the S.O.T of 8 hours on average.
3: Fast charging. It took me 59 minutes to charge this device from 0% to a perfect 100.
Cons
1: This is an ugly device and the camera design makes it hideous.
2: 120hz refresh rate may sound fun but that isn't the case. The device becomes unresponsive every now and then if kept on 120hz. It even makes the UI sluggish.
3: It gets hot as hell in my pocket for no reason.
4: Don't expect anything from this camera. Neither from a front camera, not the rear one.
5: With the immersive sound the handset vibrates like an age-old mighty Nokia 3315 and makes it a tad bit annoying to hold in hand.
6: Extremely heavy. People who love to chat this isn't for you.
7: Ghosting while glancing through menus and websites argghhh.
8: The ugly POCO logo on the back, whyyyyyyyyyyyy?
9: Hybrid sim slot. Ok, I am not angry anymore.
10: Yes the memory management of this device is a pain in kvbgjksdcisdgv.
11: The sunlight legibility of this device will haunt you for sure.
That's enough for today.
ok! Who can use this device or who is this device for?
Someone who is going to use a smartphone for the first time.
Someone who does not like to carry power bricks with them.
Someone who loves to play songs through loudspeakers.
Someone who has been using a Samsung J series devices or the recently introduced M's and A's in the same price range and and and and someone who is a FANBOY i repeat a FANBOY.
Few things that deserve an appreciation;
1) Good call quality
2) You can feel every touch on this device.
3) This device isn't worth your 250 dollar bill.
This is my assessment for a period of 15 days.
There was one great feature I;e video toolbox and unfortunately the menus inside are no more. Thanks POCO you did it with the last update.

Zephyr, 08 Oct 2020How on earth is that an innovation, they copied that lmao!
... moreHow on Earth is any Chinese brand an innovation, if they've all copied from Apple back then. (including your loved ones, if I'd be like this) Lol this kind of debate makes no sense to me, they all just compete and not surprisingly do look what others do that's natural. Besides, I've already told not joining general China brands topic since I don't have good enough insight (knowledge) on this neither I care about knowing details about brands never seen in my country. Try someone else.
What I care about the most is to understand market situation where I live in order to make competent decision when choosing a phone. If some brand bring something others aren't willing to at all, it's innovative and worth of interest. As for that under screen camera, more brands work on their own solutions, namely Xiaomi has its third generation ready to come soon and looks it'll be the good one. That's all I want to say about this.
People may ask things that make at least some sense to ask, otherwise they look like spoilt 10 year old kids or insane person who comes to cheapo cars store and starts to argue with employees about why cars aren't luxury and for the half price on top of it. Maybe you don't get what I mean by wrong comparisons without even taking a look at products. (but whining instantly instead)
As written below, no Poco X3 as the prize for arguing here so this is it from me. :D
+
Some more useful topic or question: Would you guys who see this phone's cons rather than some other users here buy this phone again? Or you think it's not worth it now and it's better to pay little more for another phone. I mean if it's for official price about €/$ 200 for vanilla version. Asking about software side mostly.

Mike Coxlong, 08 Oct 2020Xiaomi often does promos here, online and walk in stores. I... moreYou are a lucky customer to grab one for low price .
Poco x3 is not a 200 dollar device anywhere, you can get better deals from operators on other devices. In dubai the poco or mi does not come with any official warranty but a third party one. So trying to justify your stand for Xiaomi doesn't apply here. We all know though the brand Xiaomi is usable for a year or less after which some serious hardware problems start to develop ranging from faulty cameras to using a Xiaomi device for making popcorns.

Mike Coxlong, 07 Oct 2020Again you're going with subjective views and anecdotes... moreLove for Xiaomi and too much hate for BBK brands .
Lemme ask you , did you ever buy or used any brand other than Xiaomi and lg .
If yes then which ones and if no then how can you be so sure about other brands without even having the first hand experience .
The question is to provide the pros and cons which the other guy is already highlighting .
What you are doing is a complete fanboyism .
You getting paid by Xiaomi or what.
Yes poco x3 is a best bang for the buck but it comes along with its shortcomings .
The major ones being incompetent ui , screen flickering , lags here and there and everywhere and the worst among all app reloading .
All this can be improved with some updates but do you know what happens when Xiaomi pushes an update to the device.
Only a Xiaomi user can enlighten you with the pain he or she faces after an update is seeded .
A coin has 2 sides remember that.

The only in-house innovation from Xiaomi was a failed Alpha model.

Fahd , 07 Oct 2020Judging by what you have jotted down here . You refuse to ... moreXiaomi often does promos here, online and walk in stores. I bought mine in September for RM1999, which at 1USD = RM4.2 is around $475. Right now it's around RM2199/$530. Used it for a week, didn't like the no SD card and no headphone jack and figured I could get a much better spec in a RM1000/$238 renewed LG V50. Then I missed the IR blaster and the allure of a Snapdragon 865 and got the Poco F2 Pro for $380/RM1599 Poco F2 Pro and changed to that.

mustafa kashif, 07 Oct 2020i am literally having such a hard time deciding should i bu... moreIt's depends on what you want. If you want for the sake of hardware. Then get one. But, don't expected all the hardware going to be ok/good. As in my experience with more than 3 smartphone made by Xiaomi. There will be hardware problem. Be it the flagship phone to the budget one. Now come to the biggest thing and that is the software (OS). You might get only one Android OS update and if you lucky enough, two Android OS update. Android OS update and MIUI update both are different. Bare that in mind. Xiaomi have a bad record at giving Android OS update. Just google it around. You'll see what I mean.
So, my recommendation is, there is still a better option out there. I been a long time Xiaomi phone user. But now, I'm going to buy my next smartphone that ain't going to be any of Xiaomi made. Before this, I always have this kind of mentally that when Xiaomi made/released new phone and I said to myself "Wow, good hardware and price" but, after years of experience using more than 3 smartphone by Xiaomi. I don't think the same way again. Hey, don't get me wrong. Everyone has different options or experienced. I just shared what's mine. Peace ✌️
