HighResolution, 04 Jan 2024can someone clarify the speaker is Hi-Resolution Audio?it has a capable of playing tracks that has sampling rate up to 192khz, but phone's audio output is default at 48khz and even u have a song that has 192khz it would be still outputted to 48khz, unless you use an app such as poweramp, it can bypass its capped audio output.

rolandschweiger, 31 Dec 2023not sure if the phone will shortly go EOL. i actually bough... morei mean this phone is almost 3yrs old, xiaomi phones has 2-3 years of software updates. at this year, when the march has passed (month when it was released) this phone will go eos anytime.

Improve on front camera. It should be at least 24mp to 32 mp.

Anonymous, 26 Dec 2023reminds me of this phone is about to go eos soon. kinda sad.not sure if the phone will shortly go EOL. i actually bought a spare one for just 210 EUR in shiny green :-) and it is the global 8 GB / 256 GB variant. Just in case, it's not so much money, i can keep it in the drawer, maybe give it to a friend or use it if mine dies. i still consider it value for money - don't forget - it is dualSIM + SD Slot (i now have a 256 GB card stuck into it with exFAT) it also has a 3,5mm jack with fm radio (yes this is seldom used but can help in a remote area); sure there are some hardware drawbacks e.g. no usb 3.x so no HDMI via the cable, relatively slow USB file transfer due to USB 2.1 and no 5G. Yet the entire radio / RIL / network-stack is good - switching between 3G/4G goes seemlsessly and WiFi stack is to me free of bugs. 4G networks will be around for a long time. The camera setup is medium BUT has a few benefits e.g. a macro camera with real focus and a proper PRO mode that can be used e.g. for long exposure and the EIS video stabilisation at 1080p is good, and 1080p is enough for most videos. stereo speakers are good, and there's lots of RAM so all is fast. The compass issue with google maps has thankfully be fixed in TKFMIXM 14.0.8.0 für global version.
to me it is still a good device that i can keep for a long time.
BTW at least with my network provider in Austria (HoT) also the VoLTE and VoWiFI calling works fine and i get a reachable IPv6 address. for some reason when the phone is on for a while and i switch between my home router Wifi and the providers netrwork, the IPv6 address sometimes disappears but i don't think it's the fault of the phone, must be some network provider glitch. Anyhow all in all i can still recommend the phone.

Still working after 2+ years.
There was an issue with the compass using Gmaps but there were resolved by Global 14.0.9 firmware one week ago.
Overall, a good phone... The battery seems to be quite weaker now but the reason could be also background app like 4email accounts and offcourse Google meta collecting traps ;-) I will keep this phone untill dies.

Especially in hot weather it's not hard to see the phone going to 50°-60° or even more, at least according to AIDA64 and if you give it some heavy usage as the camera. I remember to have gotten the overheating warning under a heatwave such way, just by taking a couple of pictures, when the Note 9 Pro behaves better.
MIUI 14.0.9.0 for EU roms has also arrived, by the way.

Sergio, 15 Dec 2023So, how's the compass issue? Any improvement?yes (s my older posting) the compass issue is aparantly resolved in MIUI 14.0.8.0 (TKFMIXM) on my Global Redmi Note 10 Pro / 256GB
In 99% of the cases the map will now rotate when rotating the device. Recently discovered something else with Google Maps when using public transport - when on a bus, the little bus icon will no longer move along the route but the number of bus stops to go is counting down .......... so here i assume it really is a Google Map glitch and not Xiaomis fault.
However the compass_not_rotating problem had something to do with xiaomi and this appears resolved, tnx to Xiaomi and i also reported this back on the xiaomi feedback app.
overall i am satisfied with this firmware version and i even put an 256GB SD Card into the phone, it was preformatted to exFAT and works fine. Offline maps now go into the card. and i tested the compass when walking about outdoor and indoor and as i said in 99% of the time the rotation works and compass is relatively accurate.
