anyone else experiencing Google Maps no longer shows map in driving / walking orientation?
Don't think this is directly related to the Android13 + MIUI14 upgrade, yet GoogleMaps refuses to rotate the map into orientation -- it always shows "north up". And yes i did disable "always north up" and kept pressing the compass and centering-icon. Cleared data of google maps, then it worked after first starting it (the map would rotate) then after restarting the phone, it stuck to "north up" again. peculiar ...

Pk, 26 Feb 2023What about battery backup as compared to android 12❓ especi... moredifficult to judge seriously about battery life after not even 24h of testing. But so far the MIUI14 with Android13 is perfectly fine on my EU version of RN10Pro. From the outside view nothing much has changed apart from an NFC symbol that sticks in the top left corner when NFC is ON.
Also, approximately 6 GB (!) of internal storage are FREED after the upgrade, don*t know how they managed to do that :-) i use an SD-Card for fotos + videos and have everything else in internal memory (128 + 8 GB version).
The overall RAM management seems to be better than before - i.e. more RAM is being filled which makes sense, more apps tend to stay in RAM longer.
no battery problems so far. so up to now ..... i can only recommend the upgrade.

So i will report to you how it works - hope everything goes fine and the phone won't brick :-)

In the 11 Pro you'd lose the 5-Mp macro cam with auto-focus, also the image processing capabilities of the SD CPU is better, even if you use G-Cam, it's optimized for Qualcom chips. I've been using my second R Note-10 pro and heavily contemplating to get the R N 12 Pro or not, Maybe the speed edition. SO far I had no issues with this phone, that's why I ordered another one last Sept. If you are a gamer, you can also try getting a Poco F3 or Poco F4. Peace

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2023Note 10 Pro with Qualcomm has better Image Processing than ... moreIndeed fast charging will degrade the battery faster, thats why i still use the 18w charger from my old rn7 to this phone. I rarely use the 33w charger that comes w this phone only if needed. RN11 series (except the pro+ 5g) was a letdown compared to its predecessors, maybe because it was affected by a chip shortage when it being made, so most of it comes with inferior soc.

I think i'm eligible to an... moreNote 10 Pro with Qualcomm has better Image Processing than Note 11 Pro MediaTek after comparing it handson side-by-side with my own Note 10 Pro & my friends Note 11 Pro.
Not to mention GCAM support on Qualcomm is much better than MediaTek that improves camera drastically.
Also Note 10 Pro supports HDR playback while Note 11 Pro does not due to its garbage G96 SoC.
I dont care much for charging as it can drastically degrade battery life if using high wattage & most likely its purpose is to make you buy new mobile phones fast due to faster battery degradation since its a hassle having to buy & pay to have someone replace the battery = costs more.
And the cream of the crop is CUSTOM ROM Support! Goodluck with finding a stable/official support on MediaTek based phones. I'm not saying there isn't one but I can assure you'll have to dig very very very very very very deep to discover one & it's 50/50 chance it'll work on MediaTek based phones.

Got Android 13 with MIUI 14 and 01 Jan security pack today 23.02.2023 in Romania. First impression. It hangs and has more lag than MIUI 13 even with animations deactivated from developer options. I made a mistake. I shouldn't update it !
