if you can't afford cloud drive annually then you're poor.
sdcard are fragile once phone stolen sdcard can easily be accessed.

and why use wired audio stuff as a daily driver? you want hires sound its why you guys use wired stuff? didn't you know android will resampled/downsampled all your hires music to 24b/48khz?? its why i use external dongle dac + 3rd party apps like UAPP/Hiby Music to bypass android downsampling. having wired stuff hanging your neck is very inconvenient.

CHICKENLOVER, 14 Nov 2023I'm way richer than u can ever be dreamer. Headphone j... morei'm good, i don't need sdcard. been subscribing google drive 1tb annually, all files and photos are in sync every day. my phone is 512gb and most of my files are downloaded flac music. cost me 300gb storage data on my phone.

native 3.5mm jack to me is sh*t and sounds sh*t. can't even power my headphones. been using external dongle dac for my wired audio stuff (headphones and iems) + UAPP. i like my music be played on bit perfect in my indoor uses at home/office. while i mostly use TWS outdoor for convenience.

      USB 2.0 still? Another pass.

They are like Samsung the put the jack and sd cards on midrangers until they will finally take them out and put them to budget devices one day. And they have the nerve to call them Pro or Pro+.

Daim Boi, 14 Nov 2023people ranting about having no headphone jack and sd card o... moreWanting a headphone jack or sd card doesn't equate to being poor. Default OS already take up space so you do not have 512gb/1tb to begin with. Don't forget OS updates every year along with third party apps that will install updates too. Now you have less for your personal files and are also stuck with a slow 2.0 usb transfer. Imagine paying top money to get screwed like this.
And there are premium wired headsets too. And you can also use TWS even if phone has a 3.5mm hole. Amazing, right?

[deleted post]Stop with conspiracy theories. Radiation released by wireless headphones are negligible. It has been proven time and time again by researches. It's way less than the radiation carried by sunlight which is absorbed by the human body everyday.

Daim Boi, 14 Nov 2023people ranting about having no headphone jack and sd card o... moreI'm way richer than u can ever be dreamer. Headphone jack is better as u don't need to charge ur wireless every so often and quality is better too. So if ur phone stops working u lose everything, if u saved on so card then ur all good. Think before u talk kid

not buying a single xiaomi as they don't come with 3.5 headphone jack or expandable memory! avoid!

people ranting about having no headphone jack and sd card on latest phones are people who couldn't afford flagship or even midrange phone. so sad, they want to stay in the past. they are people who couldn't afford cloud drive, True wireless stereo device or even a tiny little dongle dac that cost $2 or even a repair or usb port.

i buy phone at max variant 512gb/1tb whichever is available in my country. sdcard is useless.

.......I have an S21 Ultra which has no 3.5,
I have a CHEAP Xiaomi which DOES,
AND a new ROG 7 Ultra which DOES.
I do have a "c" splitter, but took AGES to find one that worked properly.
GAMERS NEED HEADPHONES AND CHARGERS. !!!!!🤪

highwind, 12 Nov 2023Even if you said it before and repeat it another five times... moreFunny how you completely disregard the arguments I wrote just to launch personal attacks against me. But nevertheless, the exact same can be said about you. Your whole argument from the very beginning is that the headphone jack serves no purpose except using space inside the phone with no usefulness to it whatsoever to the user, which obviously cannot be farther from the truth. If so, why do consumers still buy adapters to this day, just so they can use their audio devices with their phones ?
The diametral volume of a headphone jack does, just like any other hardware, take some room inside the phone. But even if I go with your argument that it helps with additional 300mAh in battery size (which I couldn't find no source backing that claim), it does not mean companies used that space for the ultimate good of their consumers. In fact most of them who got rid of the port either kept the batteries in the same size, or in the case of Apple and their "crusades against the 3.5mm", SHRANK the batteries of the next generations. And this is not limited to batteries either, no company provided any other additional hardware feature. So all in all, they took the headphone jack and consumers got nothing in return.
High-end devices with no headphone jack keep going up in sales because people have no other choice, even after companies removed a lot of the essential features. The only company that is still including that feature is Sony, and their phones cannot compete in the market.
Your argument about adapters is laughable. Using them as a "solution" to a feature that was removed unnecessarily from devices sounds just like "You already have a charger at home". It's the exact same argument used by companies to make excuses just so they can save huge amounts of money, while -again- the users get nothing in return.
But yeah, no matter how much fanboyism you do, and no matter how many times you call me a "conspiracy theorist", that won't change the reality. Which is that the 3.5mm is an industry standard, and removing won't give the consumer anything instead. Being with or against the headphone jack does not mean you have to defend companies' decisions just so you can sleep at night.

There's seriously nothing we can do about it, move on. Having to pay for cloud storage ain't an excuse - in fact, I noticed one even offers 1tb for free! Collecting your data? They can't abuse it anyway.

"Because you cannot afford USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for ~2USD?"
The problem is that they very easily break...even those who cost a bit more.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2023As I said before, the headphone jack taking up space is not... moreEven if you said it before and repeat it another five times: the headphone jack taking up space is not a myth but a physical fact!
People denying physical facts, calling them "a myth" and making up (nonsense) claims for their pseudo-argumentation instead are commonly called conspiracy theorists.

Any technical expert telling without a shred of a doubt that the space gained from the removal is negligible is not a technical expert but a clueless donkey!
The diametral volume of a 3.5mm jackport (incl. housing and wiring) in a smartphone is about as much as an additional 200-300mAh of battery size!
Its also bigger than most SoCs from current smartphones!
Callling it "negliable" in an environment where every mm³ is considered important is just illogical nonsense!

Exactly, the usefulness of this feature is decided by the end-users - and going by the sales figures of the high end devices from the different manufacturs those end-users buy smartphones without 3.5mm jack in vast quantities! Either because they dont use wired headphones (anymore) or because they are smart enough to connect them via USB-C.

Claiming that the 3.5mm jack removal is just for pushing people into wireless products while completley ignoring the fact that wired headphones can still be connected to any current phone (over USB-C) is -again- just illogical nonsense.
It is completely obvious NOT like the removal of the charger because you DO need a charger to power a phone battery, while you DO NOT need a 3.5mm jack to connect wired headphones to a phone!

But jeah, enough for me "discussing" with illogical yesterdayers.
Most 3.5mm jacks are gone for good with the remaining following within the very next generations of phones - and luckily conspiracy theorists denying facts and making up illogical nonsense wont change anything about it. Keep crying and denying while enjoying your old / low end smartphone still featuring this ancient (and soon-to-be relic) port.

Cost of a 3.5mm jack is next to non-existant and even if that would be a factor: why do especially the cheap, low end phones (where component cost is much more of a factor because of much slimer margins) STILL usually have them, while the more expensive, high(er) end phones mostly lost them?
I will give you the answer: Because your made up "argument" is purely nonsense!

Open any phone with a headphone jack and just look at how much of internal space this thing takes up (including the wiring and case/partition)!
This space high(er) end devices just dont have for something that is 100% superfluous (as USB-C has audio out and noone needs two of those)!

Accept it or dont - the trend is clear and if you like to cry about something gone for good and making up nonsense reasoning about the "why", then feel free
