Phone full of bloatware. Just a small thing like changing theme or ringtone you end up clicking on Chinese adverts.(Alibaba) .
Wouldn't recommend Xiaomi att all. Don't buy no matter there hardware specs. Software is crap.

pls help i want to buy this redmi note pro 5g, but there's another option in my head like realme 12+ 5g, which one better for daily use about 4-5 years. my basic knowledge if i use this device i can still operate this device with custom roms cause it's use a snapdragon chip and it's easier (cmiiw), and for the realme device i already believe in its build quality. or is there any other option?. i don't game so much, but i like to use the device for social media.

Nilo, 11 Jan 2025Any news about hyper os 2.0 I'm with you, I still didn't get the update either, but apparently its coming in February or March, because they said its going to roll out in Q1 of 2025. Funny thing is, I have the Redmi 13C also, which is a vastly inferior phone, and I just got the Hyper OS 2.0 update for that a couple of days ago, so the update for the note should be coming shortly. Apparently the update helps extend the battery life. We'll see about that.

The updates are also not very frequent. I don't remember the last time I recieved even the security patch.
Xiaomi doesn't seem to care about giving timely updates and treating it like a budget 10k device.
Display and design is gorgeous btw

                It surprised to me!!
I have Note 13 pro 5G and 14t = performance is very similar. Hyper 1.0
                Proximity sensor also worked ok!

But in my region (EU/UK) i do not know what kind of early bird deals they will offer along with the Poco X7 series. It's a bit odd for Xiaomi to release two series of phones for the global market.
Amongst the things I hate with Xiaomi products are ones i mentioned earlier and the slow updates. I understand i can uninstall 1st-party system apps thru ADB but i don't like doing a long winding, cumbersome process. I feel with a OnePlus/Oppo or even Motorola i may get slightly faster updates based on what i have seen and read so far.

I regret purchasing this. No updates from months on this.
Folks, never spend money on redmi series

Gino76ph, 06 Jan 2025The Redmi Note 14 series is coming up in the next few days.... moreI'd wait for the 14 series to see how they fare in reviews. They launch this week globally and by February we should have reviews here for every model. There's also the POCO X7 Pro that is also getting announced this week, and it looks like a very solid phone according to specs and early reviews.

If you find the RN13 Pro 5G at a good price (talking around 220 USD) then it is a nice choice since very few phones in that range have the features of this one. Its main weakness is battery life but it isn't terrible, just regular (6 hours SOT average on 120hz).

I've been testing HyperOS 2.0 on it for a week now and it definitely feels improved over 1.0 when it comes to smoothness and battery optimization, but still has a few bugs in the UI that I hope get fixed with further updates.

And you can fully disable or uninstall any app by using ADB. Google about it, it's a bit cumbersome but it isn't hard.

The Redmi Note 14 series is coming up in the next few days.
Is this phone still is a good buy?
I have heard the new Hyper OS 2.0 has greatly affected the battery life and performance due to (maybe) poorly optimized and bloated OS?
Is there a way to actually delete or fully disable the App Mall (Xiaomi's app store) as it keeps disturbing me with apps to install even though I have installed them on the Play Store.
                              Any advice or opinions please?

A better comparison would be the Redmi Note 13 Pro with the Galaxy A35 because both phones are within the same price range.

I love everything on this phone except the battery life.I don't play games or run heavy apps but just use the phone for social media and basic internet browsing but I charge it 3 times a day. The camera, the UI, the feel are all good except the battery which drains rapidly.
