A better comparison would be the Redmi Note 13 Pro with the Galaxy A35 because both phones are within the same price range.

I love everything on this phone except the battery life.I don't play games or run heavy apps but just use the phone for social media and basic internet browsing but I charge it 3 times a day. The camera, the UI, the feel are all good except the battery which drains rapidly.

why does the Redmi Note 14 series line up look that bad in design, I think as a brand xiaomi should stick to the redmi note 13 series design because of the good design of the note 13 pro, and the sub brands they are confusing, they have the redmi line up, Redmi Note, poco x line up, poco f line up, poco m line up and I saw a redmi A line up earlier before writing this. I got soo confused I bought redmi 14C thinking it was the actual Redmi Note 14 pro. So someone tell me why all the brands in the sub brands, sub brands of sub brand, I think we will all be better off with Redmi Note, redmi, poco F and poco X. I feel out of words to explain my frustration about all this sub brands of sub brands because I’m looking for the perfect phone and now I’m thrown all this different options to choose and don’t know which one, thank god a friend recommended this budget phone. So yah xiaomi needs fewer phones for new buyers like me not to get confused

Camera is good but recording videos on it will going to have stutters on it. The screen is very good with nice colors and it's very bright, battery is pretty decent, even tho it's 5100 mAh it can barely run for a single day if playing heavy games on it. eSIM is a very great feature but the calls has horrible audio quality. Sound is very good, loud and hi-res stereo on both speakers. 8GB ram is enough for most of the things, 256GB rom is very good but not that fast. Charging is fast. CPU is horrible. 2.4GHz is insanely slow and playing big games on it like Wuthering Waves, Fortnite or Honkai Star Rail is simply impossible or you can run it on the lowest graphics with around 40-60fps. After playing for like 30 minutes straight the phone starts stuttering and lagging. HyperOS 2.0 has been launched today on this phone. I'm not going to say anything about the software because I'm talking about the phone but the weather app is lagging. This is the third fastest Redmi Note phone if we don't count the Turbo series and the animations are lagging. I'm telling you, if you don't buy the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G or Note 14 Pro+ 5G phone the software is going to lag. The hardware of Redmi phones including this phone simply isn't powerful enough to run the HyperOS software wich is the default operating system that was made for these phones. Considering the fact that most Xiaomi users are using phones from Redmi Note 10 to 13 Pro+ all of those phones are going to lag, stutter and crash. If you have a Xiaomi phone then congratulations you can afford a phone that can run it's own operating system that was made for those phones. In my opinion you either buy a Xiaomi phone or something else. But don't buy Redmi phones if you want the slightest of performance because this phone can't give that to you.

Amazing phone, excellent screen with very bright colors. The cpu is very fast and very efficient. Huge memory with the option to extend! The HyperOS just came out and it's simple awesome.

In your case at least the hardware is very powerful so it can overcome unoptimized software, but in the case of this phone it requires more work. Let's see what happens.

HyperOS 2.0 is just around the corner, curious to see on how much it will improve over HyperOS 1, especially regarding battery optimization. If HyperOS 2.0 ends up being a disappointment, then I might just switch to either Samsung or Vivo next year.

ashrobb, 21 Dec 2024I haven't tried them honestly, only Motorola, Samsung ... moreRegarding software development I think IOS is better than OneUI. Then OneUI is better than HyperOS. This is how we commonly judge them. But the pattern is clear, the weaker OS (per common judging) the cheaper the price of the unit. Even there is more which comes from Infinix and Itel. We must not easy to forget, that there are also external issues such as apps, virus, malware, etc that comes silently without an invitation of course. Then there is medication for this sick that comes thru an update. People will also try hard reset to overcome the issues. I think this is the end of my sharing opinion this time and hopefully these helps.

And to complement your needs, I think Samsung is quite reliable when it comes to the software experience. Maybe wait to see what they offer this upcoming year with the S25 series and their midrange stuff (A36 and A56)

What do you think about Vivo and Funtouch OS? I've heard mixed opinions about Funtouch OS - some say it's cleaner and more stable than HyperOS, while others think it's just as bad and bloated as every other Chinese UI.
