I've been using Xiaomi phones for a while I stopped at the note 5a prime that I've been using for almost 4 years. It is my favorite phone of all time, it has a wonderful battery that lasted longer than any of my other samsung phone beforehand, fast responsiveness to all my taps and touches, good processing power for playing games. The phone to me started acting weird since it would start to drain really fast so I had to upgrade I got my note 9 this year on October and it has been in all honesty a nightmare. The screen to body ratio is impressive but everything else is choppy and sluggish. UI crashes from time to time I have never seen that many crashes in comparison to my note 5A prime, the camera is alright but definitely an upgrade, sound is mediocre compared to other phones that were released during the same period. To me these are minor nitpicks but the major issue here is the phone's inability to play any games. I am busy or outside most of the time so I play many phone games but mainly fps games the phone ran them terribly with many crashes, fps drops and glitching. So I thought I'd reset my phone entirely which didn't seem to help then I looked online to see if there was a fix, people said that you shouldn't have full screen ratio when playing and have to hide the notch, which I did then again nothing happened. I thought to myself that maybe I shouldn't play a cpu intensive game so I started playing gwent (card game) a lot and that was my final straw with this phone. It keeps on disoriented the screen, sound glitching, screen tearing midgame, two frames persecond and the many many crashes. Mind you this was on the lowest settings the game offered, in conclusion this is a heavy downgrade from my previous phone and I'm terribly disappointed I really don't know how can this phone pass quality checking procedures that's even if it's faulty.. terrible experience.

The phone is bloated with advertisements especially the file manager making it unusable. The apps don't interlink properly esp email and file manager. It is difficult to set finger print scan without multiple tries.
Switching from one SIM to another is Difficult and differs from app to app.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2020can someone plz guide me. should i buy the infinix note 8 o... moreIf you can list all phones in your range, then I can try to help.
If you want good cameras, avoid all Infinix. Redmi Note 8 camera is easily better than any Infinix phone camera. Redmi Note 7 is even better for camera, especially with Gcam installed - but a bit less performance.
But no matter what, don't buy Redmi Note 9. It's the worse phone Xiaomi has released in years. Horrible camera & performance.
Even if you don't know about phones, you can tell by seeing that 90% of the reviews here are disappointed users.

I have changed a lot of expensive phones.Last year I said that so much money for a phone aren't worth it so I looked for a budget smartphone and I took the redmi note 7.This phone made me believe even more that it is not worth it to buy expensive phones. This year I was about to continue with the redmi lineup and I bought the note 9.I made a horrible mistake. This phone is completely garbage the first phone in my life that I hate so so much.It lags like crazy I can't do nothing without lagging.I made a lot of research and find some things that might help but no.This phone I the worst I have ever used to the point that is seems funny.Avoid it without regrets

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020Please guide me
Redmi note 9 or realme 5 pro??
Which one ... moreEasily Realme 5 Pro!!!
Performance:
- Snapdragon 712 is way more powerful than Helio G85, so it has much better performance. It's built on 10nm, meaning it's more battery efficient & heats less.
- Secondly, SD 712 has better & proper app optimisation unlike Helio G85, which app optimisation issues.
On Redmi Note 9, many apps on Play Store say "Your device is not compatible with this version", or lag despite not being heavy apps due to this.
Basically, even if you play PUBG on lowest possible graphics on Redmi Note 9, it'll still give less FPS than what Realme 5 Pro gives on HD Graphics (or at least Balanced Graphics).
Camera:
Camera of Realme 5 Pro is MUCH better than Redmi Note 9. It also has better Gcams, which further improves quality a lot - and its chipset allows much better functionality in camera than Redmi Note 9.
- Redmi Note 9 selfie camera capture horrible details due to its poor apertures (f/2.3) & low 13MP camera. It simply shouldn't be used unless you've good lighting around you.
It's actually much worse than Realme 5, Redmi Note 7 & Redmi Note 9. Even Realme 3 if used Gcam.
- Realme 5 Pro can record videos in 4K resolution,
1080p with 30, 60 & 120fps,
and even 720p with 960fps.
With Video Stabilisation! (Eis)
- While Redmi Note 9 only records videos in 1080p with only 30fps.
It doesn't even have video stabilisation (lol).
I know someone who sold Realme 5 Pro to buy Redmi Note "9s". He said the camera is similar. So if you want to compare Realme 5 Pro camera, you should compare it with Redmi Note 9s - not this phone.
Redmi Note 9 camera should be compared with Realme 3, or at best Realme 5 - but Realme 5 is much better in terms of videos as well.
