Helio G85 is a new chipset, so games/apps aren't optimised for it yet. You'll have to wait... as well as pray that it doesn't take as long as SD665.

Snapdragon 665 had same issue, and apps/games still aren't optimised enough to show its full power. That's why I still recommend Snapdragon 660 phones over 665.

    Doesn't matter if it's Mediatek or Snapdragon.

        AhmedSLL, 24 Jun 2020Able yes, but I wouldn't recommend it, especially for long ... moreIt seems I missed somethings about the phone, there are some software related issues concerning the performance, those problems are more noticeable on the 3Gb ram version, I'm not going to throw the whole blame on xiaomi, the g85 is relatively a new processor so more time is needed for more optimisation, but we all know the Miui "evolution" in the last couple of years.
        And this is up for discussion but is it just me or xiaomi phones always seems to have a problem or two with mediatek chip sets that other companies don't have, I mean before realme was a thing oppo was doing fine with mediatek compared to xiaomi, and I remember the redmi 6 and the infamous helio p22, yes it is what it is but still, it was a disaster especially at launch.

              And it's not just display complaints in redmi phones. In past, I used to see a lot of complaints about their phones suddenly going dead and never turning on again. But that seems to be fixed now.

              These days, their common complaints are of display, signal reception, quality of parts inside (lose fitting/strange noises), battery drain and lower performance.

              Battery & performance issue can be explained by MIUI. I've noticed if you flash another ROM, it improves the battery and performance notably.

                That's why I simply answered his question exactly how it was asked. That Samsung phone hasn't yet launched in my country so I couldn't suggest other phones either.

                    In Corning gorilla website this phone is listed as having gorilla glass 5 in front as well as in the back. Please check your specifications before posting.

                          from Redmi Note 5 Ai (pro) to now even in Note 8 pro
                          xiaomi just using 18W fast charge for redmi note series
                          most of the time they just put 10W charger out of box & you must pay extra to buy real 18W charger

                          this time Redmi note 9 even with 18W out of box, its take 2hr:33m to full charge 0 to 100

                          but for india market they was more generous
                          Adding 30W to Redmi note 9 pro
                          & 33W to Redmi note 9 pro max
                          p.s: i don't know what out of the box. again 18W or real 30W & 33W charger
                          they are almost as same as Note 9s...some changing in number of camera

                          Now let see some of chinese product prices in some of chinese online stores compare to new redmi series

                            All of these "this brand good, that brand trash" "this brand trash, that brand good" blah2 blah2 blah2. Just keep in mind non flagship phone always not perfect and have their own pro and cons. Let me say this:

                            Redmi Note series:
                            Price is affordable with midrange specs. Of course, the biggest cons is there's some budget cuts on some section (people complaints mostly on display screen still LCD) and yet the worst is phone has an ads on stock apps/systems. Some series has their own cons. For me, I use Redmi Note 5 Ai only have issue on "volume" and "ON" buttons. While using this Redmi Note 9 (note 9s or pro) have an issue on camera which sometimes lag but it seems has been fixed by update. Although Miui sometimes bugs, Xiaomi still (and constanly) giving an updates to Redmi Note series.

                            Entry/Midrange Samsung - Pro's on Amoled screen types but lack of performances optimization (on 2019 and below midranges), and now lack of camera but good performances, or vice versa. The good is, it has Samsung Health, bit good for monitor health if you use it, and Samsung Members apps which you can get some privileges as Samsung users like digital coupons. But for midrange, if you choose performances, you'll get crappy camera/video quality. If you choose for camera, you'll get decent or bad performances. Also don't forget once Samsung has been sued due purposely giving a support just for 2 years on their phone, including Flagship.

                            Midrange Huawei/Nova - Same like Samsung. If you choose performances, camera is decent. If you choose camera, you'll get decent performances. But what make it different from Samsung is quality of pros is more excellent than Samsung. Now the additional cons is no support for Google Services for time being ( or maybe forever if America keep banned).

                            Midrange Vivo/Oppo - Excellent on camera but performances.

                            Realme - haven't tried yet.

                            So basically what I want to said is, no midranges phones is perfect. Redmi Note series still in Midrange section, but as I mentioned, its cons is some section has been cut due budgets and ads stock apps/firmware.

Better d... moreThe Samsung costs 100 more, and you should compare it to the redmi 10x 5G that as 400.000 on antutu it's close to 2 times more than the samsung, and the redmi 10x is 5G and as an AMOLED display, if you want to compare 2 phones you can't just compare a redmi go vs a Samsung s20 ultra, check the prices first.

                                    Go for Galaxy M21. Better display, performance, less heating, much better cameras, better battery and supports 4K video recording.

                                        JoJo, 15 Jun 2020On Camera and gaming, Which is better, Xiaomi RN 9 or RN 8? For camera, RN8 is easily better than this phone.

                                        For gaming, this phone has better chipset than RN8 but there are already people complaining about its performance.

                                        RN8 would be a safer choice, but I don't recommend MIUI phones for gaming unless they offer more powerful chipsets than other brand phones.
