Purchased this phone last Sept. 2020 and updated it now to the latest MIUI 12 OS. The battery is extraordinary.. Recently bought a flagship Samsung phone but i still keep on using this phone because of the battery, it's hard to kill even with heavy tasks like non-stop gaming.

I've had this phone since October 2020 and have found it difficult to out it down. I have to come up with a reason to pick up the phone. Battery life has been phenomenal. Even with the updates, the fingerprint scanner has been almost instantaneous entering the phone. Although I got the 128 GB phone, I still installed a microSD card of 128 GB for my pictures, videos and music.

To all the guys and gals who own this device: Are you receiving Android updates on a regular basis? I am talking about monthly/quarterly security patches. How good is Xiaomi at doing that on their Redmi devices?
I myself own a Mi A2 Lite, which is an Android One device offered by Xiaomi, they keep up with the monthly security patches... I am wondering if the same can be said about the Redmi devices too?

Don't buy this phone or the Redmi Note 9s. There seems to be hardware bug that Xiaomi can't solve thats causing drop calls. The drop calls are random. Particularly frustrating when you're on business conversation & the other person suddenly can't hear you & the call ends. Redialling is frustating especially the other is a company land line & you have to go throught the operator for the extension connection all over again. This will be my last xiaomi phone. No fix found to date.

MIUI 11, now 12.02 does kills some apps like Nova Prime, Accubatt Pro, Twitter etc, just to conserve battery.......It's a great phone for price, but this really is a bother!
I get a SOT of +10 hrs on all 3 that I bought 5 months back, won't mind if I get 7 hrs provided doesn't kill these apps.....support says issue shall be resolved in 12.05......

Do anybody have a problem with speaker and microphone while voice calling?
When i have a voice call, sometimes it's speaker fail and the i can't hear his/her voice and sometimes it's microphone fail and he/her can't hear my voice.
Is it a bug of miui 12?
Does it solve in miui 12.5?

After 5 months of use one of the camera lens is dusted inside. The seal is not good. Don't use their case cover. Buy a case cover that will cover the camera also
