I'm still using 11.0.4.0. Everything works just perfect. Great battery life...
What about 12.5.4? Battery, camera, performance... Should I update...? I cannot decide :)

This phone is a beast. Great battery. Great display. Gaming is top notch with the snapdragon processor. Great camera. If only it had an AMOLED display. But it's a great phone overall

Boris, 07 Mar 2022How are battery and RAM usage compared to MIUI 11 ?Battery life is more or less the same, meaning it's good, but RAM management is definitely better in MIUI 12.5. More RAM is available, and there are no stutters or lags.
Also, there's an option in Settings to add 2GB of RAM. It's not genuine RAM, but it allows you to have more resources available in case of high-intensity apps or games.
This is basically a phone that keeps on giving. Its set of specs and overall performance allow it to be relevant for at least another year or so.

Using this phone in 2022 since 04/2021... No problems whatsoever, I flashed Pixel Experience A12 not long ago, waiting for the MIUI 13 A12 update to see if it's any better.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2022Never update your Redmi note 9s, it only makes stuff worseI've received the latest 12.5.4.0 Global version update, and I haven't experienced any issue or bugs. Battery life is excellent, the phone is snappy and fluid, no problems at all.
My advice would be this: when you receive a notification that an update is available, always wait for at least 7 days before actually updating.
The reason for this is that Xiaomi pushes stable beta updates for a limited numbers of users, to see if there are any last-minute bugs, before releasing a final build. This final build usually comes 7-10 days after the first stable beta is released, so it's definitely not a long wait, and is definitely worth it.
Btw, after updating, you should always restart your phone at least twice. This has always been my routine, and I've never had any problems with any MIUI updates.

Use this phone for 18 months now. All is good (nice budget device) i only have 2 small problems. One is it si slightly to large for my small hands but i got ised to it by now. Second it sometimes randomly restarts during a phone call. Love the redmi note series.

Goo day all, please I have an issue, I've been using my redmi note 9s for about 18months without an issue but just yesterday, the fingerprint disappeared and I can't use or access anything with fingerprint, can anyone suggest a solution or what might be wrong?
